How many of the apps running directly on the processor, might have vulnerabilities, does that mean you can "update" them, if so, then they are susceptible to being changed, and eventually modified to be some other app...which will then have logged all your info...hence back to square 1.
If the installed system could not be changed or use the same type of stack and heap system as regular OS, then it would be ok....however, I thought the whole intent on using a level of visualization was to avoid having direct contact with something that could give you the virus... (the internet)...having a web-browser that can use a cross scripting web page and then download something unto the hardware might be worse then having it at the software level, no?
Any real admin worth their salt, will know to have triple bkup systems, one on site, one off site, and one stored in a remote location of usually a bank vault, which gets updated once a month or so......
Seriously, I hope no one lost their info they had stored at that place for money...imagine google saying all gmail emails have been lost...oooops sorry, we didnt back up enough or have a good system in place....i smell chapter8 here!
About freakin time someone put that stupid test to the test, I always knew them to be sometimes buggy, especially when I know some people to have passed that test, when they could have not even stood up on their own, and yet someone who has no discernable symptoms of being drunk, was blowing way over the limit...for sure there were bugs in their system, all systems have bugs... if M$ cant program without bugs, why do they think they could?
They do...in their own way...you have to learn the goggle syntax, but there is one...look up google hacking in google, and you will see a lot of johnny links!
But its ok, we have arrived at a point now where the real geeks make their own boxes and create a quad core for 1/4 the price of a regular computer today! Even with Intel still doing what they were doing, we can still arrive at a more competitive market.
I say...let them do this, but make people aware of what they are doing, it will hurt them more in the end.
Internal or external, there lies the question, internal has speed advantages, but space disadvantages, and storing too. I prefer using externals, double up (bkups for each drive ) so 1 500gb, = 2 in reality, 1 for stuff, and one for the bckup of that drive.
Each time you need to add, another 500gb, then keep adding, the problem is no one sees the importance of keeping the drives small enough, as 2tb drives come out, people will rush to replace their 4 500gb with 1 2tb....wrong! Keeping the files separate means less possibility of corruption.
If 1 2tb drive conks out, its a bugger to get back a full 2tb of data, where as 500gb although large, is a little easier. I prefer this way anyways....plus externals can be easily shared , where as internals are tougher to lug around, if no one has proper set up to connect to.
I really hope this works and sets a precedent to those who would try to prosecute torrent sites, geeks have the power when it comes to internet, and as in the movie sneakers, the power to topple companies and governments.
OMG, this is way too complex for my little brain, I think I will just stick to doing Ulduar runs. Remind me never to go into business when Bob, Jane or Jim are around, I would not be a happy camper!
Exactly what I thought, it does not make sense, if I decide to sell at a loss (no matter where I get my goods from)...because my business model right now does not fit the economic ecosystem..and would not let me remain competitive....I would go out of business.
If a gas station lowers his price by 1 cent on his gas, and he is beside another gas station, then he is breaking the law....if that were true, there would be alot of gas companies being taken to court!
Thanks for clearing that up....except I am not sure the taxfoundation.org site you linked is....well...a proper source of info...just because there is a title of tax in the url
Cool, that is a great input on multiple super black holes within a galaxy....makes sense...I would still like to see what happens when 1 blackhole comes too close to another....now that would be something.
That will prove to be 99.9% of their traffic, and revenue... well it was fun while it lasted, now on to the next one! (crouches down as if on a hunt).....have you seen any ISOs around here lately?
Why give away the fact that you have infected a machine and force a reinstall of that persons windows copy, to then get your malware destroyed or removed , I really see no point in this, except if they were to write a RAM or Boot virus, to come back after a reinstall, there would be no way to get them reinfected again...
Why also blow up a machine and tell that person "hey stupid I got you see..." this will make the person more careful of their actions, thereby lowering the chance for reinfection....really does not make sense.
finally forced some accountability for big AV company...hope they stagger and sway before falling down. I really hope they go bankrupt, because everyone wants their money back for their product, and this sets a precedent to all other AV companies....stop screwing us!
Well, I am displeased to hear this, unless of course Obama was directing his attack towards the corporations and not the people. It is sad to say, but in this economic crisis, big coporations making billions of dollars profits, need to stand by their country, and support the failing infra-structure. It is not by forcing the poor people, who work so hard , but cant afford the legal representation or accounting council to find all the loopholes, that should be targeted.
Too often I find myself watching as the poor get poorer and...well you know how it goes. Britney Spears is making millions, is she paying millions too in tax, or is there a glitzy accountant following her around calculating everything that can be deducted.
I would love to see a flat rate for people (corporations are a different matter) , that way less energy, effort, time and money is invested in making this happen. Think about it, no deductions, no receipts, no time wasted calculating, no time wasted getting documents, or contacting accountants that charge you through the nose to break even.
If we had a flat 20% of whatever you did make, poor would not be poorer, then the rich. They would be even. We would have alot more money in our coffers, because for once the rich would be paying the FULL amount,.....remember no deductions...so from 100 million dollars for one person's gain in a year (Arnold Schwarzenegger) would equal about 20 million for the US! Thats it thats all. No extra wasted money on the government figuring out new ways for people to pay, and have that side lined by another loop hole.
I was wondering what took so long, the brits are best at what they do, and what they do is TAX! If I were to go over the history of taxation, you would see that for par, the brits hold the title for the most taxed items around....only to be outdone by the most creative taxing system, which falls unto New York State, for having a tax for fuel inefficiency AND for fuel efficiency...
ie- if you have a smart car and DONT use up gas, we have to tax you....!!!!
I tend to wonder, why Google though, or is this a search engine first, to be followed by yahoo, aol, M$...etc.
I find it really sad, I would have liked to have tried glidder, it would have made my life simpler, but now I can't even get an Iphone app that at least let's me know when my AH item has been sold...or when I should log on, before I lose that email someone sent me a while back....sheesh.
Its the sad truth that the military will never bring back a budget that did not use up all its money...as this would show that it does not in fact need to keep being given so much, and could in a stupid way of thinking , not get enough for the next year etc....when it might go over the budget...etc..etc...
The dolts who plan the military are not accountants, but they are good at getting what they want....this is exactly why you do not want to keep giving them new projects, they always ask for more..

I would love for Obama to step it up a notch and force these guys to adopt better policies for their ATC units.
THE NSA DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO OPERATE LINUX?
So how long exactly did you say you worked there for?

Just like Millennium, cant we just get M$ to apologize already, and take that crap off the shelves?
