How long it has taken, I remember reading on/. for the first time in 2001 about a monkey they hooked up to some robotic arm and used a wire mesh interface for his brain which had been peeled back...to do experiments with moving the robotic arm. We are now 10 years later and finally they are going to test this using humans....took long enough, especially with all the considerable advantages this could have for society....
This is the only problem I find, either not enough funding for the important things, or too much red tape to get the project going. Don't know which was which with this one, but I guess now any MS patients might have a chance at some normalcy with life....if they can perfect this technology...
Apple has been the biggest Don't worry attitude type marketing platform...hell this would make me sh*t my pants if I were the CEO of Apple, imagine getting everyone to download an app that is so popular or a webpage hit that is so tremendous that all apple devices are bricked overnight...He would have to replace all of them, and declare bankruptcy!
>Moving thousands of tons of rock without machinery is easy Especially that they recently proved that all the stones used for building the pyramids were mixed like cement instead of what some noob proposed with pushing these huge blocks of rock up a slanted slope....they cut open one of the rocks, and saw swirls within the main field, suggesting man made materials, and most definitely the contents were poured into place.
These should be done this way as in new york subway system riding over the traffic....all of it should be above ground out of traffic, too bad we can't also induct a special highway for cars underneath it with few stops or lights to get through downtown quickly, like a mini highway...
I tend to agree with the post post to your post....I think FF should come standard with that, the same as it does for https....you do not need to download extra add on for https, so why sftp
I can see why the FBI would want to avoid any true seal to be published, in order to avoid anyone forging a copy as the seal in their website is not the true seal you would find on a badge, as the one on wiki might be the true seal. This is something I have heard but can not confirm, how many FBI badges do you see in a day???
Anyways...as for the FBI not wanting it public, I agree, however, wiki is not breaking the law, as with an investigation, you need to show your badge when you site you credentials, and for anyone to know or be able to have a semblance of knowing if it is a true badge, you would have to have a place to compare to...which I believe is where wiki would come in....you would think the FBI website to be the best place...but wiki is probably more accurate....
It's a tough one to decide who should win if this goes to court.
I agree with you, too may times people (administration) cut costs where they think they can do without, IT, and leave the IT admins holding the bag, so IT admins figure, dealing with burning all those dvds is an extra cost and burden when you can just add an image on the disk while installation for the restore operation and avoid extra costs.
The real ones left holding the bag is US, the consumer, who mostly never knows his *ss from his elbow when it comes to buying a pc and configuring it. I work in IT so I know to ask for the OEM each time I buy upfront so they know they are not getting away with it, futureshop or bestbuy give you THEIR copy and you must do the whole process, the only thing is non OEM serials don't work for OEMs but you just have to call MS with your serial number and they give you a new one for the oem version, which most people do not know they can do.
This is only now possible as before google did not cache all the router info , of which they are also now in hot water for....many of the states in the US are joining together to review how google seemed to overlook some sort of privacy law to cultivate this data.
Watch out Baphomet our sun god has seen enough! He is not pleased with us, and will descending upon shortly to once again rule and set things straight....I for one welcome our returning fiery, deity overlord!
Nice to see a reporter with some chops take on another reporter. I am always looking forward to a great match up...this one will be nice...as both have extensive resources and background knowledge to sift through the others claims. It is nice to see someone WITHIN the same industry call bullsh*t on another reporter...then say "back it up biatch!"
actually when we are talking about water powered engines, we are really talking about steam powered engines...of which there are plenty of designs (older ones) as all the new and probably efficient ones have been bought up by the big oil/car companies.
They all get bought out by the oil companies to keep it hidden and hush hush and then shelf the projects...same thing happened with those water powered motors that we are not supposed to know exists but have been shelved a long time ago...wiki i think has the links...
Get your sh*t together sony, already...seriously, this should not be happening.!
I told my dad and uncle that instead of buying a new blu ray dvd player for 250$, they could invest a few bucks more and get a ps3 that plays blu rays, and will be able to play 3d when their patch comes out, and also play games, music, and even avi formatted movies from a usb key....all in all a great purchase, except when I read about these things,....the regular user wont know what the hell is going on, unless they got someone like me to tell them they just got bricked and need to send their ps3 back to sony for fixing....almost regretting it now...
> should not have any way to get into my router and change the settings normally they don't if you disable remote host connections to your router from the outside, they usually don't not add back doors from the factory...maybe that is more you not being smart enough to a) change the password some guy set up for you 3 years ago, and b) configure your router properly to make sure you have no unknown connections going on, usually mac address filter, and ip range filter, and also wpa2 encryption, depending the age of the router or firmware upgrade.
there are 2 no...could they not plan a rescue mission, if it does not compromise the other rover, to go and help the first one out of the sand trap, and also maybe give it a shake to dust off the solar panels?
Sure, of course, now that india has proved who ever is in charge of the OLPC project was in it just to make a buck himself, and that now they proved him wrong with his designs, he hopes to at least get them to look over some of the materials they still might need and make money by them using his stuff....right, of course, he is thinking of the endless millions of kids needing one of these over there, and is just a too excited for his own good....I think this is just your perfect example how the big wheel keeps turning to help the richer get richer and the poor get poorer (if that is even a word...)...
If students from india could figure out how to make a 35$ tablet , you know these guys could too, quite easily, they had the contacts right off the bat to save money where as these students do not even have contacts, they are just using ingenuity, so they come up with it and show the world that this is possible and that these companies are still just as greedy as they have ever been, I think india's government should just can OLPC and just straight off the shelf make the tablets available to all stores over there with a price cap or sell it themselves online...
There should be a programmers union just like taxi cab unions, just like bus driver unions, etc. Why is it that programmers are always left on the side of the road when it comes to benefits and entitlement???
I tend to agree with you, too many people think they know,....what....more then the scientists themselves. Although I would believe a cover up by governments to avoid mass panic if they really knew an asteroid or climactic change in the atmosphere were to cause problems, but this would be very unlikely for this case, as too many scientists / lobbyists for the climate would be there with proof otherwise....
I heard weather stations all over the globe were supposed to share their data with one another on a certain level in order to pool their findings and make a better big picture call for global warming, I don't remember that organizations name, but it would be nice to hear what they are saying directly from their website(?) then the news media which are somewhat controlled by governments hence biased...or manipulated.
Now that they got him, could they not send out a command to all infected to repair themselves and delete any known botnets including this one from the hard drives, at some point, it would be nice to use the now discovered botnets and their code to do some good for a change, or do they want us to keep it there so they can still monitor xxx hacker still using it....
If they were smart they would all settle out of court, avoid the lawyer fees, and also make the 10billion dollar project just a 10.5 billion dollar project....would be cheaper and everyone could get on with their lives.
It is a well known issue that none of the cell phone SPs are ever held accountable and yet always get to charge the big bucks for all those services. Just for the sake of showing how weak the system is, if I were that guy, I would go through with it even if there were cops there to take me in after the presentation for breaking a law...I am sure many people would help fund him for his his lawyer....we could all donate 1$ each...as well, this helps to promote more people to do this sort of thing, hence they will have NO choice but to up their infrastructure to be more secure in the end...
Just like someone from google giving an example in the wild of a zero day hack for M$, 1 week after telling them about it, so that the bug does not go on forever without being fixed, this is a forced attempt to make them fix their broken systems. I hope he goes through with it....
my point exactly.....not. My point was 3fold...reread my post, i did not challenge the fact that pink cars are not for their owners... I challenged the test, that when in a city of 1 million cars, and you say maybe 100 pink cars amongst them, of that study, the crime rate will be much less, not because the crime rate for pink cars is less, but the ratio to population is less, the stats are wrong, and secondly i was also mentioning this is not a/. story, and they should stop printing this type of BS...I wont even go for the third as I am already wasting too much time for a lame story like this one...
As for your car, pink is a nice color for some oldies, although I could never see a ford tempo or a dodge stratus being pink, hence the factor that off assembly lines where you get 5 million cars coming out to the population, not many will end up with a new pink paint job, hence your car was the unique exception where it was a street racer tweaked up, or an oldie muscle car for show, of which either make up.001% of the car population in north america..
Anyone current-ly afflicted with this nonsense needs to step back and switch synapses.

Why stop there, what about unlicensed home extensions or driveways....keep going government, make us hate you more!
