They could try to intimidate you and say stop and desist everybody, but I have to wonder, if by doing this they are not giving the illusion that ATMs are safe. I applauded the effort that one consultant did security wise about the flaw with microsoft, and then turning around and posting on youtube (or whatever) the flaw....so that M$ could not hide behind their usual crap....they were forced to fix it right away and issue a patch, this tends to let me think the same with this situation, disclose the problem after 1 week of letting them know, and they will have to force a firmware upgrade to all outlets....that's what most people are forced to do with their machines,... why not them???
I once had a few visa cards come to me pre activated...I called them up and told them that this was any activity on the card i was not responsible and to cancel and send me a new one, they tried to explain....bla,bla,bla, I told them i don't care, send me a new one and unactivated, that way I have to be the one to call it in, this happened about 3 times in a row, and then they caught on, that I was not going to accept it, since I never have had a problem, and I cancel cards after 4 or 5 transactions....my own way of securing my account if you will, but at least they respected what I said about not wanting to go with this new way of doing things...they left me alone and continued as it was before....
I guess they thought for most people they would have no problems, but with me, I would never surrender under their policies.

I found that over the years the product quality was poorer as time went on with Dell comps, my last dell was an inspiron in 2000 for my studies, and it was a great machine, and yet still outperforms today's pcs. I doubt that a real laptop for today could be beaten by one from 10 years ago, but put a new dell laptop beside mine...and mine is just as fast (P3 with 512 mb ram and 60gb 7200 rpm drive) go figure,...I am just glad that with that laptop, I realized I never would buy brand names again, they are too easy to build yourself, pc or laptop....you waste too much money for being able to call someone to have them run you through diagnostics you can do yourself when something breaks....
You would think that someone would be smart enough to get the FBI to set them up as a mole, to then go and infiltrate the Russians, and become a mole to be sent into the FBI, with enough of these, the Russians could pay for the whole FBI payroll... and we could pass them data that is not too important but important enough to make it look like we are working......worth a try! lol

I heard a funny rumor that google had like millions of pcs set up as servers all clustered together to share the load of doing a search on their own custom built file system. Is that not good enough for you, or the fact it does not come in a box with a nice little logo with all sorts of imminent malware and trojan dangers and sell for more then it should make it a viable option???

Yes, but you obviously don't check the memory usage as he does, I have used many tabs and left firefox open for days on end as well, and have noticed taskmanager slowly climbing while FF is open, showing no signs of stopping, so I do what I need and sometimes just force close and restores sessions to get back some memory, but for his problem where users/clients might be using it for office documents (openoffice.org) as excel spreadsheets or what not, it might be a disaster waiting to happen...
I am very happy with FF, but sometimes wonder if my copy i downloaded might have been MiM attacked and swapped with a diff. version, I have 8 computers in all at home and all run diff. version each of FF (too lazy to upgrade all of them)....so I see the memory leaks....although one version (forget which) had been stabilized maybe 3.1...and then the whole started again with the newer version.

Teaching in the future, will be more tailored to the individual, learning what he needs to forgetting about what he does not.... What I also see happening in the near future with this sort of teaching is that you will end up with many people overlapping knowledge..and collaborating more, if I know about general physics but buddy beside me knows more, for my present day problem I will consult with him, and he will have his use, where as the rest will be what I learned from this style course, unless I want to specialize, then I become like buddy for THAT specialization, not forgetting what I already know in many other fields...
Sort of like star trek, where self worth and social stature, is based more on what you know, so if you study to know more, you will be used more hence become more important within the community... I consider this to be the wave of the future....no more books, no more schools per se...more just learning off the web, then applying your craft, and knowledge to the problem at hand...
Need to do taxes, read up all about it, then if you are still uncertain about a point, that point will be smaller and quicker to review with a specialist, then going to see an accountant for ALL your taxes...

Hear me out, the president of the US could foot the bill and force BP to repay them..... they have unlimited (almost) money to do what needs to be done... if I had access to anything i needed, i would build a cruise ship sized central fugal machine that is actually a sub, and use it to split the oil from the water, and then fill up balloons with the oil to float to the top...then a second special ship made just to pick up the oil and separate the balloon material from the oil, would be used, and the oil sent for processing for normal usage.
The problem I gather is that because BP is in charge, and the US is sitting back doing nothing, not even checking into what alternatives or viable other options. CREATE THAT DAMN MACHINE YOU NEED TO SAVE THE PLANET. 2012 by Mayan standards is the day we realize we are screwed, well guess what, it wont be because of some great natural disaster like tectonic plates shifting, it will be from ourselves and this disaster killing our ecosystem.
I am a noob inventor if you will, be do pride myself in knowing a lot about it, and know enough that they are not doing much to come up with NEW ideas. I see BP being the real evil here, telling most others, don't worry we are working on it, but really just botching the job even more....
It would be nice if they could ban all adult websites to these address clusters, and avoid main web having adult content, so as to make sure that the filters needed are much less intense then they have to be now...also could prosecute if a move is not done within allotted time frame...
On a separate note, it would be nice if all websites within this domain had to register on a list of offending parties such as sending out spam etc...so as to know which are ok and which are not, instead of blocking all adult content, there are some that pride themselves in not sending out bad pages, or pop ups etc....a sort of white list of good p0rn sites to visit, if there is such a thing...
Was he acting on his own or did he have help from the inside, I wonder if this was a test set up independently by the gov. but without affiliation so as to test its own weaknesses, or maybe have no ties in case something went wrong???
I am not sure the african impoverished farmer would have enough money to buy a cell phone let alone afford any sort of phone monthly plan....i would believe that a village has 1 cell phone to share amongst many, but i have seen with my own eyes how poor some of these villages are, and trust me, i have to agree with a few posts above when he says those potatoes would get eaten way before they were even used to generate any electricity.
All these stories about things to come out, how about a story once where you hear your local hardware store now HAS this new air conditioner ready for you to buy, and save 50, to 90 percent energy....then I will be interested...seriously , this has got to stop!
