I think the armed forces of all sorts AND the coast guard should all be implicated in a massive soak and spill removal. BP should foot the bill of course and they should make millions of yards of this cloth, even if reusable, as they will need to use as much of it as possible.

Am i missing something here? I may be off topic, but is not the whole point of this to get them OFF the internet... you would think after treatment, just stay off the internet, then you get out, no? If the treatment is for 1 month, bide your time, then leave for good behavior then almost become like a secret agent, using the internet only when you really need to...at a friends house etc... not to alarm your parents....I think it is more about disciplinary action...i do feel badly for the kids though if there is abuse going on...if they are given a fair chance though to not use the internet and then they will be cured (per se) then I guess it is their own fault, no?

I always though the best botnet would be would compromised machines that uses torrent abilities to get pieces of itself that is still missing, but start with smaller parts, then once the full operation is up, you have a program running that is both a drone and general...the general part being the main build centers, as soon as a new torrent file is out, with the latest info for C&C strategies, it is propagated into all other drones using torrent streaming, almost immediate replication of the next phase of an attack vector....i would also use the dates of the torrent files to know which is the newest....and maybe hide the name of the file amongst many torrent sites, like a pdf doc or something, that has value on a quick look, but hidden within is the set of commands...

If the machine says they won, they won...end of story, bring the casino to court....the fact they know the re was a screw up in the programming without even opening up the box, means they knew there was never supposed to be a winner, because they programmed the machine to never win, except the programmer made a mistake , hence why they say it was a programming error without even opening the box. So can you either bring them to court for false advertising...chance to win xxx money here...or bring them to court for not paying the prize won....either way they should be punished, and now I know i will never go to a casino in my life.

On the whole, I think access to all this information is making us all smarter, not dumber. People are willing to learn how to use a search engine chances are they will realize how to deal with all the info returned. I usually filter through the top 10 of a search to see how much are saying the same thing....so I at least get 10 chances to learn what I need to know. That is me and only me, some are happy with the first pop up they get without cross referencing it....this would be where you could land yourself into trouble. Also I usually go to wiki for most things specific....like learning the history of dogs, where they came from , when did we start using them or training them, what they are good for...hunting, etc.... doing a search for dogs, might land you on some website with doggie p0rn based on page rank, so by following these 2 sets of rules, i can usually find info on anything i need.

Only a matter of time before we all have our own pc cpu installed inside ourselves and can interface and do a lot of work with our computers and the internet....need to check something up on google, use you interfaced keyboard that sends signals to your cpu, that is powered by your own thermal energy, then use your pc to hook up with the internet using a 3g chip implanted at the base of your neck, this will allow you to look up on google for all the p0rn you might need, and then send the signal back to your optical implant that allows you to visually see your pc screen inside your eyeball.....god i can't wait to see what p0rn will look like when that happens...will they still wear garder belts? what about stilletos?

I would seriously love to see an alien life form come down on earth and take stuff because they thought they had a right because they are more intelligent then we are, and therefor should be able to walk into our environment and totally bulldoze through our houses because "they bought that land from x government on their home planet stating there was no REAL intelligent life on earth and they could build their home here...."....a bit like Avatar's message, although no one will ever remember that message over the 3d and special effects or cool theme about avatars for humans...etc...
I read your post, and although I am a networking newb...I have to ask, how much room do you have on one tape, because it sounds to me like you can place 2tb on a tape (is that right?)
I guess the only real advantage is that tape being sulphur based would get consumed (almost spark and explode) too easily during a fire, or even small in house one....while you got the fire extinguisher...they would disappear, where as a hdd at least has some protection to a certain amount of heat for a little time...you could cool them off quite easily by blowing a fan on them and have enough time withe the hdd to transfer over all the data to secure its contents.
If you hover first over the web page, you can see what is clickable and what is not, if the whole webpage looks like one big url link to be clicked, then flag goes up in MY head...so don't click, but i think with javascript there are ways to even eliminate the hover click icon for x, y position and make it avalable only between the points....i may be wrong though, my javascript is a bit rusty....i think it was a x , y point element you had to set....anyhow...still gives you a heads up if there was no real cover for that click link.

sadly i have to agree with you here, i was a major obama supporter and having seen him during this disaster shows me he is just as bad as bush was (hands in deep pockets) because his lack of action shows me just how much change he really meant to do in office. I guess this will also serve not only to wake people up to our oil overlords, but also to how deeply rooted their influence is in the senate and office....we dont own the us the oil does....who ever owns the oil owns the us...
Really, if it was by accident, it never dawned on the guy to create a new user, then contact the admin and tell him his original user was blocked and ask why, if on purpose if by accident, could you fix it please.... Or he could have contacted the gmail support service (tied into newsgroups as well) to clarify why his emails were not getting there, and if this could be rectified. Contrary to many other companies, when you contact gmail service support, they actually can talk to other departments on your behalf seeing as most other services tie directly into your gmail account...
