I do.... I have working copys of all those consoles (minus the gameboy player).
The 8-bit NES was a HUGE hit in my dorm this past year, particularly Mike Tyson's Punch Out and Mario 3.
There is more than enough playablility left in those old systems. Most likely because the games were more focused on gameplay value rather than flashy graphics. There are many old-school games that I've never been able to beat, even after 100s of hours of frustration. Most newer games seem much easier to beat, almost as if they're designed to LET you through to the end (so as to watch a flashy movie perhaps?).
Now back to the Megaman aniversary collection......
I've observed the same thing, not 100% of the time, but an easily visable trend.
It seems like a difference in planning mentalities. (Disclaimer - these are only personally observed trends, not blanket statements) Another example is the difference in mall shopping methods. Women that I know will go from store to store in a seemingly random order, traversing the entire mall several times. Men on the other hand figure out where exactly they have to go and make one circuit and leave.
Someone with experience in psychology care to explain this?
For my roomies birthday this year (turned 19) a bunch of us took him to a strip club. He hadn't gotten any action for awhile so we figured it would cheer him up.
So after he's blown about $100 he comes up to the rest of us and says "hey, i'm out of money, is there an ATM here?" thats when we decided it was time to leave.
Moral - If you're a poor horny collage student going to a strip club, leave you're plastic at home.
Yes, the issue is data throughput. DVI-D doesn't support high enough resolution.
But, the 30 inch display only needs ONE connector. DVI-Dual Link is just a protocal/standard that allows that one connector to send twice the data of DVI-D. Think double density.
So... one card, two DVI-Dual Link Connectors, one display (including 30 inch) per connector.
Nope, they should each show up as a single monitor. The "dual-link" label is misleading, it's mearly an update to the DVI standard (like DVI-I, DVI-A, etc) too allow for more data.

It's not so much about making people WANT to pay... it's about people not feeling like they just took it in the ass after buying a new disc.
Say you buy a new CD for $15, because of a song or two you heard on the radio. But when you sit down and listen to the whole album, the rest of it is total crap. Then you might (justifiably) feel ripped off.
On the other hand, say you throw down the same $15 for a different CD. When you listen to the whole album you discover that the entire disc is amazing. You would most likely feel that the $15 was well worth the price.
The problem is that many times current CD offerings leave the buying unsatisfied at the purchase price. After repeated purchases leave the same unsatisfaction, the consumer is more likely to just say "screw paying for this crap, i'll just download it and see if i like it."
-- disclaimer: I don't want to hear "you should listen to the whole disc before buying it" because thats rather inconvienient, time consuming, etc etc. --
I've never gotten into watching SG-1 (although it comes highly recomended) but have meant to.
This looks like a great place to pick up the series, but i have to ask all you SG-1 fans... how friendly do you think Atlantis will be towards new viewers?
And in the end we shall achieve in time The thing they call divine When all the stars will smile for me When all is well and well is all for all And forever after Maybe in the meantime wait and see
We love the all the all of you Our lands are green and skies are blue When all in all we're just like you We love the all of you
And when I cry for me I cry for you With tears of holy joy for all the days you've still to come And did I ever say I'd never play Or fly toward the sun Maybe in the meantime, something's gone
We love the all the all of you Our lands are green and skies are blue When all in all we're just like you We love the all of you
Well that sounds fine so I'll see you sunshine Give my love to the future of the humankind Okay, okay, it's not okay. While it's on my mind there's a girl that fits the crime For a future love dream that I'm still to find But in the meantime.
We love the all the all of you Our lands are green and skies are blue When all in all we're just like you We love the all of you
Sorry, couldn't resist...... at least you can't hear me singing;)
I've found Stephen Baxter to be an excelllent Sci-Fi author.
Titan and Ring were impossible to put down. Vast timescales, but with very human and identifiable characters. Flux, Timelike Infinity and Raft are all on my list for at the beach this year.
I'm currently interning at an Army ARDEC base and I wish i could reply with more substance.....
but, there are quite a few reasons the Army is interested in hypersonic flight. A tank round can exit a tank at well over 1400m/s

Or, on the other hand
Build a man a fire and he'll be warm for a night...
Light a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Ok, now someone please steal the next Tool record so we can all get it a couple months early.
You're wrong and you're right.

Slightly off topic, has anyone seen a way to upgrade (even if it includes needed a new case) the video card on an iMac? (lamp type)
