    No kidding. I was watching CNN a few days ago, just catching up before I went to work and they were mentioning rain in the northwest. They started reading tweets about the weather and the one I remember was "rain rain, go away".

    I work best when not bothered. I don't work in IT, but if I'm doing anything from actual work to tinkering in the garage, I like to be alone. For my personal life, though, I'm definitely a extrovert. I love being out and about with new people, living it up. I'm not shy.

    Too much of either and I'm unhappy.

    It wouldn't be easier or harder because the fees are not the reason. The reason is the manufactures don't want you to upgrade the OS, they want you to upgrade the phone. It's planned obsolescence.

    First off, "real men" don't care what you or I think a "real man" is defined is.

    Second, this incessant need for growth is destroying us. Economies based on non-stop growth are failed economies, in the long run.

    Third, neither the girl nor myself want any children. Having them against both of our wishes just to keep growth alive is ridiculous.

    You can do a fractional distillation on crude and separate it into it's various types, tar, diesel, octane, propane, etc. You can also take long chains and "crack" them (break the chains) and create more of whatever you want, as long as it has a smaller chain.

    Most refineries crack now and can get up to 50% octane from a barrel of oil. Without cracking it is less than 10%.
