I don't care for Sony at all. I'll admit I'm downright hostile to them at times but I have to say Sony are taking on a VERY big fish and have a very very small pond to do it in.
Nintendo have made several REALLY good handhelds we all remember and adore, we're loyal to Nintendo, this is the first factor.
Now in Japan all we heard was how poorly it was made, how it threw discs out if twisted one way and how buttons jamming and dead pixels were every where. Sony can't label mutton as lamb if you already know it's mutton.
Music is music. The point of a MP3 player is to get hold of music you like where you want. It's a simple personal walkman (remember these, around in the 90s, played tapes, quite useful things), only it players data, if you're on a long car journey your MP3 list will run out sooner or later (as in get boring) and you can't change it on the run. So you flick over to a simple radio for a couple of hours to revive your boring music a bit with a break. Then you find more songs you like to add to it.. hence solving the problem.
So yea, no one wants to listen to the radio with their iPods.. only idiots would go "OMG I WONT DO THAT BECAUSE I HAVE THIS". The radio has many more uses then an iPod, even tried listening to say Radio 4 and a nice book or a radio drama?
Yea I saw a TV program of old women bitching about their PCs earlier "crashing" and "reporting illegal errors". All I could do was cringe and go "Dear god use Linux and no such problem happens...
Is there really ANY reason not to use Linux in an office with the most default installs comming with more office programs on it you could get on a Windows PC in a £300-400 budget?
When did ANYONE with a clue listen to Microsoft? "Linux costs you more money", "Linux has more security problems" and "IE doesn't have any security holes which we can't fix and do the second we know about them if you have a fucking time machine!" seems to be all they can say lately.
I'm sick of Bill and his lies, who gives a fuck if he says Longhorn will stop teenage pregnancy, cure world hunger and get every geek laid within a week of buying it. He talks so much crap now (and so do most people who have spin doctors sitting up their ass all day) that we may as well go listen to the talking clock for a bit and at least get some truth even if it's useless 10 seconds later.
As soon as you get to the citadel don'tcontinue on, even if you want to. It's the worst part of the game, the ending sucks and the only thing worth while in the ending theme... just find a torrent for the sound track and skip the crap.. you'll respect the game more for what you missed.
Book authors don't usually sue and the MPAA recently has done alot of sueing.. so it made sense to aim for the bad guys persay.

Nor is the DS or any handheld from Nintendo. Nintendo understand HANDHELD means any where in the world. The DS is only a gimmick stop gap between the GBA SP and the next gameboy, Nintendo don't claim it to be anything more.
Is it me or is the PSP getting FAR more attenction then the DS did? I'll freely admit I'm a loyal Nintendo fan and don't trust Sony consoles as far as I can throw them (nice that they will work only a few years after I bought them.. saddly my PS2 doesn't and it doesn't seem uncommon). Yet I still have a perfectly fine NES, SNES and several brick GBs.. but it does seem the PSP is all over slashdot right now and it's all "The PSP is better because it has eye candy".. maybe a little one sided topics?
I wasn't intrested in Dr. who (infact I disliked it while friends loved it) and didn't even know about the new series untill the leak. Now I see it all over TV (and billboards in town) and I'm wanting to see the first episode or two to see what it'slike and if the geeks who loved it/hated it were right/wrong in my opinion.
So while this guy may of been leaking stuff, he also got someone intrested in the series when beyond they would of just been sick of the adverts and gone "Man Billie Piper pisses me off the slag".

While this is true to a point you also have to remember NASA needs the government at the same time. While many see Space as "teh great beyond!" where Ewoks and Jar Jar binks live, Governments and (mostly) the US and UK, see it as "teh greatest battlegrounds evah!" in short. So the government is going to have alot more projects for NASA to work on.. secretly.. black projects.. So while NASA may like to give away more money, war (or future wars) will bring them lots of money where as "Lets go find Marvin and Ford!" might not encourage a "Lets stop terror and increase security based on lies and edited documents" government to give you more money.
How do these prices weigh against NASA research costs? I wouldn't mind knowing if these are done "to enhance space travel and encourage developement" or if they are just to save a few pennies...
