Just curious. When is this broadband service over power lines supposed to be available to the public? I keep hearing and reading about this technology, but I haven't seen it completed and deployed yet.
For me, Internet made me socialize due to my speech and hearing impediments. It is a lot easier to communicate online and I get to meet all kinds of people. I love the Internet. I could live without TV.

Are any of you having problems playing back some QuickTime MOV files that just lock up Media Player Classic v6.4.8.2 (QT Alternative v1.3.9)? It happens on my old P3 1 Ghz system with Windows 2000 SP4 (all updates) and Athlon 64 3200+ machine with Windows XP Professional SP2 (all updatses).
I e-mailed the company if The Digital Hotspotter(TM) Model #HS10 was sold in any retail stores like Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, Circuit City, CompUSA, etc.
I got a human reply quickly after 1.5 minutes: "We currently sell the product only online through our website."

This CNN story says video games calm kids before surgery, more effectively than tranquilizers or parental presence. Doctors found that allowing children a few minutes to play the games reduced their anxiety until the anesthesia took effect. Dr. Anu Patel conducted the study after noticing a friend's 7-year-old son was so absorbed with his Game Boy at a restaurant that he ignored the adults and the food at his table.
One thing that bugs me is the limited audio enhancements in gaming. No EAX support since CL doesn't make Linux drivers nor share it for driver creators. Even with Transgaming for old Diablo 2, I could not enable EAX/3D sound for my old SB Live! card.
Has this been improved yet? I don't play games in Linux these days.

1. I have an old WAP device that doesn't support WEP.
2. MAC addresses can be spoofed.
I don't remember since I don't have the game anymore. I think it said 3D sound. According to this, it uses EAX.
