now weed out the big terrorists on a regular basis and keep an eye on the smaller terrosist and you've probably reached the situation like it is now.

however, if you take down every terrorist as soon as you get a suspicion he is a terrorist, then you will 1) waste allot of resources on people who just seem like terrorists, but who don't have the guts or even the real intend of creating mayhem (just think about the people who try to look big by acting like a hacker, but who coulden't program a 'hello world' app, but then for terrorists) and 2) the real terrorists will be harder to find, as they addapt to survive, untill ofcourse after they end up on the passenger list of that airplane that crashed into a tower earlier that day.

I think the difference the grand-grandparrent is trying to point at is that with indymedia you would have several articles, all with their own bias (several reporters => several points of view => several biasses) and all the articles would be there, so the reader can pick which ones he wants to read and wich ones he doesen't.

while with cnn etc. you would have 1 or 2 reporters who same a similar point of view (aligned with the station) and the a editor or so would pick the one article that fits with his and the stations bias the mosts and let the reader read that, thereby forcing that bias onto the reader.

btw, I haven't read much on indymedia, so I might be wrong...
it's just that for a reader, it's almost always beter to have several different articles to pick from and read than having one article preselected.

seems like those environmentalists are protesting the wrong thing there.
even tho giving a glacier a nice shiny coat isn't gone solve the problem on the long term, it will extend the glaciers life a bit, giving those environmentalists time to find and sort out the real problem.
So why the hell are they protesting it?

btw, I personaly think that the people who did the wrapping in did a good job, it might not make a big difference right now, but in the end, it's allot of such small changes we'll need.

well, considering they are already running the rovers in extra mission time, the sooner they got them free, the more time was left between getting free and the batery etc. giving their last bit of juice (and the rover dying).

so if the batery would last another 6 months and they spend 3 months getting free, that's only 3 months left to explore.
if they got free in 1 month however (by working overtime), then they would have 5 months to explore...
if I had to choose, I would know what to pick :)

btw, I think they've got a team manning the earth side of the rover mission 24/7 anyway, so beter let them work on getting the rover free than letting them just sit there spinning the camera around to take pictures.

Adobe Reader 6.0 for Windows loads lots of unused plugins on startup. The Inquirer has a great article explaining how you can disable those unneeded plugins and make Adobe Reader load faster. Basically, you need to do the following:

    1. Install Adobe Reader 6.0 and notice where it is installed.
    2. Navigate to that folder in Explorer, locate the plug_ins subfolder and rename this folder to plug_ins_disabled.
    3. Create a new plug_ins folder.
