I own a Mac. I also own a PC. I don't see the point of elitism over either one. It's just an OS choice, you don't need to be rude about it either way. That being said, you've reinforced the stereotype of Mac users being complete and total fuckrods. Nice going, asshat.
The point is that the definition of "a song's worth of data" is very variable. I'd find 7MB for a 4 minute song to be reasonable, while someone else would consider half that size for the same audio to be an acceptable quality. "A song" is by no means a concrete limit, and using FLAC as an example is meant to emphasize that fact.
The original meaning of that particular symbol has been morphed into the current implication of support for slavery, white supremacy, etc. The meanings of things change over time, and that is one of them.
Wait, wait, wait....you don't buy "protected titles", yet you buy from Steam? "*BEEP BEEP* DOES NOT COMPUTE" *My head a splode*

"Less than a grand" doesn't sound as good as "300-400 bucks", and the 360 is likely to be around for a couple more years at least. Hardware prices are what have pushed me away from PC gaming overall. Consoles just seem like a better value to me, especially with the (mostly) standardized hardware to program against.
OK. System Shock and Bioshock are both better games than Halo, as is Half Life. They've got emotion to them that I just never saw in Halo (either of them). Halo made me curious with the story. Half Life made me both curious, and afraid to be curious of what was ahead.
The only redeeming quality I've seen to the Halo series is its use as a multiplayer game with a bunch of friends. I find it's multiplayer to be very well-balanced and very fun. The single-player campaigns though....somehow they were just missing something.
I'm guessing that the patent handles automatic plugin starting, but only in a very specific way (patents are required to be very specific in their application). All they did was find a different means to the same end.
I saw that episode performed live. It was really great watching these actors do their impressions of the original cast, while adding their own little bits in.
I've actually been looking at a grammar parser for English (just the basics...I'm not getting incredibly deep into the language), and most of the work seems to be coming up with tables of words, their parts of speech, etc. The rest is recursive matching of categories, which isn't that hard to write.
I haven't done any work on machine translation, but I'm thinking that it has a similar starting point.
I don't know, I can understand the reason, and I can summarize it like this: Christians aren't going to start murdering innocents if you make fun of them in a comic.
Christianity is constantly under criticism and subject to satire. Somehow, I've gotten over it without becoming irate enough to start blowing people up.
It's not the religion that's the problem. It's the combination of the Islamic religion and the (intolerant to ridicule) culture that tends to grow out from it.
It would make it higher performance, but less stable. Tie something into the kernel, and there's a bigger chance it'll hose the system as it goes down.
This has been covered before.
LCD panels work by blocking light from the backlight. Dark colors take more power.
CRT monitors would save a bit of power by not needing to fire the electron gun for black pixels.
Seeing that most people use LCD panels nowadays, I'd say that the proposal would do as much harm as good!
Frankly, I run Kubuntu and have occasional problems (sleeping at random times, a couple lock-ups). So...if you *do* have your sights set on something different...

Yea...multiplayer is more fun though =/
I'm not stroking anything of yours, buddy. You can do that on your own time....and for goodness sake, shut the danged door!
The FAQ on their site says it won't work with the Zune either.
If MS's own player won't work with the content, what does?

Yow! Use a lossless codec at least, please! FLAC is pretty good, and there are at least half a dozen others to choose from.

Firefox has an extension called Videodownloader to make it trivial to get the source video. I do see your point though.

Why does a belief in "God" always imply a belief in the Christian God?
Goatse's from a series of photographs. Tubgirl's from a video.
Pffft....so she was never in danger at all? I'm sure one so young couldn't be on her 12th regeneration already.

http://icanhascheezburger.com/ Enjoy.
Unless Mac OS opened itself up (both source code-wise, and in regards to the hardware it will run on), it just wouldn't be the same.
