    The notice told pilots that, if bad data causes problems to appear, they should "disengage autopilot" and use other controls and adjust other switches to fly the plane....

    Let's understand that time is a factor in the successful disengagement of this MCAS. Pilots had less than a minute to figure out what was going on.

    Imagine a car doing its own thing even as you try to tame its erroneous behavior. You literally run out of time resulting in a catastrophic outcome.

    I personally didn't know much about Huawei till the fella in the White House started blabbing about it.

    Way to go Huawei. Like Putin once said (I'll paraphrase), "Let the dogs bark, you march on..."

    Be careful though, you may be prevented from using Android - ask ZTE! about this.

    Just like when court concludes one's not guilty.

    It doesn't mean the person under trial is innocent.

    It just means that the evidence submitted wasn't enough to convict. The fella is then "let off the hook."

    Around the world, citizens have expressed a growing disillusionment with democracy, and an increased skepticism that their voice has an impact on political decisions.

    In my experience, democracy is relative. When some countries democratically elect to do something, big powers sometimes disapprove. Sanctions follow. One country is notorious for this.

    This same country has invaded tens of countries in the guise of promoting democracy - creating chaos as a result; as if some higher power sent this country to spread democracy.

    Can someone say I am wrong?

  8. If these unfortunate events were to have happened on any aircraft not built by the USA, the media would be in a self congratulatory mode - touting how USA's "superior checks and balances" have been able to positively influence commercial flight with distinction for over a century.

    This whole thing smells of corruption; usually relegated to "those other countries." I am not surprised that the USA was the last to ground these planes - corruption is why.

    Don't let people take pictures/video of you while nekkid or while performing sex acts.

    It actually works...

    Sometimes it is the simple answers that are the best.

    Dude, the definition of revenge porn makes it clear that it only becomes so once posted on the internet and with specific aim(s).

    revealing or sexually explicit images or videos of a person posted on the Internet, typically by a former sexual partner, without the consent of the subject and in order to cause them distress or embarrassment.

    Your solution, though it would work, is drastic in these circumstances I think.

    It's fair to say the American nation isn't the envy of the World it once used to be, but the fact the Chinese can sue in American courts with a decent chance to win still says a lot about the differences between the two juggernaut nations.

    Looked at the situation through another lens...

    Whereas one nation has sought to assert its will onto others, it's found one that will not simply sit back and watch. Huawei is fighting back.

    In addition, of the two juggernaut nations, one has had a proven MO of fomenting chaos (read regime change) in distant lands, the other country has mostly followed bilateral cooperation even though some experts have seen this as a form of imperialism.

    Think about that!

    Dude, Firefox *is* *cough* *cough* a failure! Why would anyone team up with a failure, really?

    I support Microsoft here. Some folks will not be taken aback by the unfamiliar interface; so they will adopt it in droves.

    Let someone here help me out by advising folks at OpenOffice/LibreOffice, that an unfamiliar interface [of their product] as compered to a popular product (MS Office), does them no favors.

    It partly explains why they have failed to gain consequential traction despite decades of development.

    Trust me guys, this was inevitable. It had to happen. I mean Amazon launching some kind of grocery store business.

    Their MO will be something like this:

    Any "non-fresh" foods from their Whole Foods business will be restocked in this grocery business and a cheaper price point.

    Facebook wants to stick their nose into your finances as well as everything else

    For this reason alone, I will not bite. In fact, I have avoided Facebook (proper) all thing time that I do not even see the [dis]advantages.

    I have not found a way to fend off WhatsAPP though. Telegram is my close alternative.

    While I congratulate Sprint, I need to know whether they have [any] Chinese built hardware on their network.

    This is because although the American government hasn't produced any evidence to support its claims, I am inclined to "toe the line" and believe what my government says.

    But from sources available, I should fear my government because it's the one that has done questionable acts in the past, like planting backdoors in CISCO equipment, spying on allies and in fact hacking Huawei itself!

    Its price simply makes matters worse.

    Nobody said you would. But someone might, for whatever personal reasons, so now they can. There are many ways you can experience life in the 1400s, or 1776, or 2000BC. Some people watch soap operas. Some eat bugs. I don't know why, it's their life and option, right? Live and let live; sound okay? I don't think they're hurting anyone. You could argue that it's wasted effort, but so is art, sports, entertainment in general. Webpages have gotten so terrible that maybe a return to simpler roots is a good thing.

    Not good.

    I would be most grateful if there was a way to cheaply stem these YouTube ads.

    Google's fees in order to avoid them is insane. It's just costs too much.

    Boeing with its longer range smaller plane nullified the advantage without incurring the disadvantages of the huge size.

    Boeings military contracts help a lot.

    At least $60 Billion expected according to that link. If it were not for these, Boeing would be in trouble too.
