Having read a lot of Dean Koontz novels in my late teens / early twenties, I have to point out that you are entirely correct, except you give him too much credit. His endings are even worse. How? I don't know. But they are supernaturally bad.
I had no idea Bush voiced objections to that. Interesting. I'll have to look for it myself I guess. That's pretty funny. It was certainly a fair shot at Bush though. "With me or against me" is a very inappropriate attitude for a supposed leader. What a dipshit.
I'm pretty sure I saw an HDCP compatible HDMI -> Component converter somewhere. It'll be a bit pricey of course, but far from prohibitively expensive I think.
Funny thing is though, the downgraded signal is still fairly high resolution, and would probably be more suitable for pirate Internet distribution. Of course, piraters will still just build equipment to rip the original digital data, scale that how they see fit, in order to optimize quality and size to their own preference.
Again, if you can see and / or hear it, you can copy it. And it's very, very easy. Laughably easy.
Fuck HD movies. I bought a HD set just for playing games, which is really where a higher resolution helps out. The DVI-out from my Geforce looks pretty sweet on my HD set. Playing FPSes with a wireless keyboard and mouse, while sitting on my comfy couch is pretty damn satisfying.
You know what else is pretty damn satisfying? Using VLC to play any region, any format DVDs, upscaled to 720p. It looks fantastic, nearly as good as a true high-def video. I have no reason to "upgrade" to a high-def video format, as DVD is plenty good enough, and I can actually watch whatever movies *I* want to watch, instead of just the movies the studios think Americans want.
Of course it does, you fool. Buying goods from a country supports that country, period. That country now has more money to pay its own citizens to perform censorship duties, buy food, etc.
In a free country, ratings and censorship are not codified into laws. In fact, freedom of expression is arguably the most important aspect of a free society.
That is a ridiculous comment. ALL trade with China may fund censorship software, etc. The only difference is that, if it's developed by Google or Yahoo, it will be at a higher expense, therefore less of it will be developed(in practice, probably not).
Your comment is like the fucking commercials claiming that buying pot funds terrorism.
I think it's fair to point out, that, as far as media moguls go, she could be a damn sight worse. I dislike her show, her magazine, and I am skeptical of how closely her media personality resembles her real personality, but I know of no reason to think negatively of her... well, except for her damn show collection, that's just unhealthy for other women to see:)
BMW brake pad sensors are just a simple circuit. The circuit is closed once the plastic coating on the "sensor" wears down and makes contact with the rotor. Pads for BMWs include a new "sensor." The "sensor" consists of a wire connected to a little plastic coated piece of metal.
Honestly, I don't know if Flash is a good animation platform. People make some funny animations with it, but I've never seen anything of significant quality rivaling any "serious" animation(cartoons, anime, 3d animated movies, etc.)
If you've got something you'd like to point out, by all means do it.
The only good use of Flash I've ever seen is for video. Some sites are using it now, because the latest flash is pretty good as a streaming video decoder. No need to download a player, plugins, and the proper codecs, nearly everyone has Flash, so it's an easier target.
Not really a testament to the usefulness of Flash, but rather the poor multimedia capabilities of modern OSes, and the problems caused by having so many proprietary multimedia codecs.
Yeeeeaaaahh... 'cause Hollywood writers are so fantastic eh?
Just the thought of a Hollywood writer rolling their eyes at *anything* seems so laughable to me. I mean... COME ON, Hollywood is where the stupidest stories in the world are thought up!
Sounds like a slam-dunk slander case to me, and considering how awful a thing the reporters did, I'd seriously consider taking them to court for it, considering it has caused damage already.
I'm amazed at how outranged[sic] people will get over one thing, but let another go into the night.
Indeed. I'm amazed that you don't mind Apple snooping on you, no matter how benign(or not - suppose you listen to neo-nazi music when noone else is around - you'd probably be embarrassed/ashamed/have your cover blown/etc., when iTunes starts recommending white supremacist music while other people are around).
Like you, I don't mind certain trackings of my personal preferences, but only with my permission.
This man is delusional. There is absolutely nothing coherent about this interview, and he's far from polite. He's toned it down, and he's not totally fucking flipping out at the interviewer, but he's still the same crackpot.
The shots he takes at PA are just ridiculous. He's attributing far more to "Gabe" and "Tycho" than they're even capable of. He's obviously extremely paranoid.
Lord knows why people pay any attention to extremists of all sorts. Haven't we better things to do?
Can you, or anyone, please clarify that for me? I'm not familiar with whatever it is you're referring to.
Thanks.

grrr... s/show collection/shoe collection/
Damnit. I had better replace those pads soon...

Die.

I don't know how realistic that is though.
