Actually I'd be glad if they shipped windows with anything else than IE, I really could care less if it's Firefox, Opera or lynx.

    It's Linux/GNU you insensitive clod!

But seriously, I think he meant Ubuntu as in the general name for the entire system; linux is only the kernel, GNU are only a core set of the tools, and Ubuntu is the glue that holds it together.

As for all distros being 99% the same: try using both Slackware and Ubuntu and we'll talk about it again. That would be like saying winME, XP and Vista are all 99% the same.

And don't even get me started on LFS (linux from scratch) :)

Yeah, that's also what I always said; no matter who sits in the big president seat, its the same puppeteers behind the scenes.

I think Obama is just the next phase in a larger agenda; to pick up where Bush left (as he was the first president to not try and be re-elected) and divert the general public attention (hope, change, etc).

Of course they're going to get the troops out of Iraq, there's nothing left to destroy over there and they'll need them to invade Afghanistan.

It's funny how most people are almost forgetting every issue talked on during the campaign except for bailouts and troops.

This is what happens when the kids have more authority than their parents, they whine, cry, shout and whatnot and the parent is just standing there thinking "what am I going to do with them". These parents usually do everything their child ask of them thinking it will make them happy and maybe correct this behavior, when in fact it just encourages it.

I agree with the parent (post, not the kid's), a 6-yo shouldn't play an adult game that promotes stealing cars, there's a good reason it was made an adult game and this kid just proves it.

Governments have a margin of error they can play within and still succeed, which is very large. Terrorists have none, they make a single error they're out.

The patriot act and national security are more harmful to innocent people than to terrorists, for without them both there would be no reason for terrorism in the first place.
