Yes, I have had many applications that did this through the years. The most recent is just about every application that my current client has. The mainframe that is the authority on employment status sends an "A", "T", "I" for Active, Terminated, or Inactive. All of the applications that recieve a message about the individual, which include that one one letter acronym, translate it to the full word for end users. The same is done for department and division names.
This functionality goes back at least a decade in the current applications. No doubt this was WAY more popular when memory was more expensive, so storing acronyms and doing a lookup of the full text on display saved huge amounts of money.
Or they could buy a bulb that fits into the existing light socket that heats when and only when covered with snow. There is absolutly no reason that the housing would need to be replaced other than to improve over what has been used in the past.
You know, I keep hearing those number thrown around, and I have to say, if they are true, then I am absolutely amazing. I'm not saying that I have never had a failure, but even 30%?!?!?! That would be absolutely atrocious. 5% I could believe. 20% if you count all three categories. I'm just having a hard time swallowing that 33% are complete catastrophes.
I know that this is going to sound like heresy, but sometime the manager is right. I happen to work for one of those mythical creatures known as a good manager. He almost always fully aware of what he is doing when tells us to build on top Feature X which is still buggy. He understands that reducing users workload today by 50% is better than reducing it by 60% in 5 years, particularly when he knows that the code is only going to have a life expectancy of a couple of years.
Which would you rather have, a program that doubles your production but has to be rebooted once a day, or just plod along doing things manually?
Of course, the reason I say 'mythical' is that most people will never see a good manager in real life, so generally your portrayal is entirely accurate.
To be fair, it is a movie that pits sentient bipeds against another set of sentient bipeds who look different. Pretty much all humans vs. alien movies are about race. That is the point of them. If it were not, it would be humans against humans. By making one group technically non-human, but anthropomorphised to the point of being just another race, they get to deny what they are doing. Much like a 'comedian' that is actually making a political statement, pretending it is a joke.
I have not seen the movie, but the point that it would cross the line between being a racial themed movie to a racist movie is when they portray each of the groups as representing a specific real life race, and they make one all good and the other all bad.
From the comments on here from both sides of the debate, as well as the trailers, it sounds like it is a classic, brutally evil nature destroying white invaders verses the good, peaceful, living in harmony with nature Indians. If that is the case, then it is a racist movie, as both of those are unrealistic insulting stereo types of real groups.
I won't know which is the case, or whether it is a good movie or not until it comes out on Netflix. I rented 'Battle for Terra' last month, so I've already seen an animated evil human military invading a world of peaceful anthropomorphised aliens, were one human breaks ranks to help save the peaceful aliens who somehow manage to mount an effective fighting force even though their species doesn't have war.
Given that I have yet to see a forum that has been around for a while without combat, and your very post is combative, I'm not sure whether you are having a case of congnative disassociation, or if you consider lying to be a valid technique in your forum combat.
Yeah. It's so unfair that women have to follow the same rules as men! If you don't let them have extra, then you are unfairly targeting them! Yes that is sarcasm.
You claim that breeding certain people together will produce "healthier, smarter and stronger" people, yet are offended by other people that think breeding can produce healthier, smarter and stronger people. You are not less racist. You just have a different group that you think is superior. You probably never even noticed that Hitler was not an Aryan.
It is funny how those that beat their chests the most about the evil racists, are often the most racist people you can find. It's simple... When asked if it is genetic or environmental, the answer is almost always "Yes".
You don't seem to understand what you are saying. Every single restaurant on the planet wants people to leave as quickly as possible. Some restaurants make a huge effort to make sure that you leave immediately, and other don't. Certainly every restaurant that doesn't rush you out the door is letting you stay as a lure. Putting playgrounds inside of the restaurants indisputably places McDonald in the group that does not make an effort to get you to leave immediately.
I had that problem. I use Comcast Business. I found that when they upgraded my speed from 6mbps to 12mbps my WRT54G router would crash if I used bittorrent. It turns out they are giving me 20mbps with it reaching 30mbps at times. I upgraded my router to an AR670W (not the best choice, but it was cheap) and my problems just went away. There was no question that the router was the problem.
It is people like you that convince people like the OP that the AGW group is full of BS. You complain that he doesn't offer evidence, and then offer none of your own. You use strawman arguments in the same paragraph that you complain that he is using one. Honestly, once you start labeling people with terms like 'denialist', you lose all credibility, and do a disservice to your cause.
Yes, a decade does = 2001-2010. It also runs from 2000-2009 and 2005 to 2015. A decade is 10 years. If you are trying to make the tired old 'There was no year 0.' argument, you are failing. There was also no year 1 or year 2 or year 3. It wasn't until much later that as a culture we picked an arbitrary time to declare as year 1. Since all years are basically an arbitrary number that we all just happen to agree on, if the vast majority of the population decide that a century starts at the logical value of XX00 and a decade starts at the logical value of XXX0, then that is by definition when it does. Pointing to a counting error for 2000 years ago, and claiming that we must continue to make the same counting error for the rest of our civilizations existence isn't 'intellectual' it is exactly the opposite.
That doesn't even take into account the other times over the last 2000 years that the calender was just changed by those in power. This decade as you are arguing it no more started in 2001 than this year started February. After all, it is clear that Sept = 7, Oct = 8 and Dec = 10.
Or were you being sarcastic? If, so, congratulations, you successfully trolled me.
You seem to miss the point of splitting from the source church. Groups that do this usually don't think that the source is wrong, but that it has been corrupted. Thus, when they split, they see themselves as the 'real' church, and thus would take any part that they deem 'real' with them.
It always amazes me when system admins suggest that the company spend huge sums of money to keep good employees instead of spending dramatically smaller sums of money on supporting them using the PCs already on their desks.
So, how do I get a skinny avatar when my lean body mass alone puts me into the medically accept BMI class of overweight. Then when you add on the amount of fat that is required for the human body to survive, I am considered close to 'obese'. By the medical industries standards, I have to be be a work out dude to get down into 'overweight', and I have to literally amputate body parts to get to a 'normal' weight. I'm not sure I would be prepared to amputate a leg just to meet some ill conceived notion of 'healthy'. Of course if I have to remove more than a leg, I have to make sure I don't choose the other leg as my next amputation, because if I did, I would be shorter, and that would push be back into being 'over weight' again.
You are wrong. McDonald's is based on having the purchase part be fast turnover. They are supportive of people hanging out at the McDonald's as long as they don't cause trouble. Just go to many McDonald's at opening. You will find half a dozen senior citizens who are just hanging out for hours drinking coffee. Tons of McDonald's have play structures. Certainly putting a playground inside your store is an invitation to stay awhile. Even more have free video game kiosks.
No, McDonald's targets people who want their food fast, they will support your choice to eat it fast or slow.
Besides, who cares about a woman being lesbian besides other lesbians. Me, I want to know about the super hot bi chicks. That, and it is ridiculous for the previous poster to ask if she is hot. There is no way for him to get an answer because looking at the a photo won't help since by definition, the best looking women are the ones who will sleep with me.
That depends on what you consider adult content. While Netflix claims that Alice In Wonderland: An Adult Musical is rated R, the movie it self has an X rating notice at the beginning. And, while they did cut out the actual close ups of insertion, Pirates was filmed as a full on porno.
So, while they many not have much, and it may not be hard core by today's standards, they do have adult content.
This is why car drivers that complain about cigarette smokers annoy me. The will spew all sorts of particulate matter and chemicals into the air and then whine when a cigarette smokers do it. Yes, I drive, and no I don't smoke, but I'm not going to be a hypocrite and claim that my air pollution is better than their air pollution.

After populous, no more religion is needed in video games.
And that he has only one wife...

As long as you are prepared for the economic collapse that will happen when every single driver who has a radio in their car loses their license.
You seem to miss the point of splitting from the source church. Groups that do this usually don't think that the source is wrong, but that it has been corrupted. Thus, when they split, they see themselves as the 'real' church, and thus would take any part that they deem 'real' with them.
Are you saying that over half of the web browser users are more tech savvy than average? You might want to rethink that statement in the future.
