I would say that so many people have fond memories of Oregon Trail because it was a game that they were allowed to play in school. I always thought that it sucked. I have found recently that there is an entire genre of educational games for the Nintendo DS though. I just got mine for Christmas, and was suprised that Brain Age is just one of many educational games for that platform.

I don't think that word means what most people think it means. People always call these kinds of machines "perpetual motion" machines, and say that it is impossible because of the law of thermal dynamics.

Whether this guys machine works or not, it is in no way a "perpetual motion" machine, or "free energy". It is about as "perpetual motion" as a Hummer. When you take a substance that is oozing with easily accessible energy, and put it into a motor as a way of making the motor run, it is certainly not "perpetual motion". Just because a lot of people make motors that don't work when trying to make a magnet powered motor, doesn't mean that it is inherently impossible.

By claiming that powering a motor with magnets is "perpetual motion", a person is inherently claiming that magnetism is not energy.

You are correct. People are always amazed at how quickly children learn to speak. I say that if you took your average adult, put them into a fully immersive foreign language environment, where they could not get anything for themselves, they would learn the foreign language even faster than a child. Heck, to make it a fair comparison, you also would have to give the adult multiple tutors who will happily spend every day helping with identifying words and correcting pronunciation.

Depending on your definition, most kids would not be considered fluent with their first language until the age of 4 or 5, and then generally still speak it with an accent. I would say that this is not all really any different than an adult. They are actually probably a little slower.

There are a lot of people who hate both candidates equally. There are a lot of people that are not voting at all out of some kind of protest. If these people would vote, and vote third party, they can have an influence on the candidate that wins. Heck, there are even people that don't know anything about any of the candidates, but go and vote anyway because they have been told that they are supposed to vote even if they don't have an opinion. Include that group as well.

Many of the third party controllers of the day were extremely durable though. The Wico bat stick, and the slick stick come to mind. The slick stick actually used auto parts in it's construction. The handle was a tire valve. The paddles were even worse. Luckily, the paddles were just a generic off the shelf potentiometer, so they were (and still are) super easy to repair.

Notice that I also did not complain if a doctor refuses drugs anywhere in this thread. In fact, I believe that doctors tend to be a bit quick on the drug prescriptions with some symptoms. Unfortunately, the number of doctors that will honestly discuss your treatment with you is not high enough to go around.

It is also important to recognize that it is also the patient's responsibility for deciding their treatment.

"If a doctor won't discuss your treatment, or you feel he's not giving you correct treatment, go to a better doctor."
