  1. Re:Value for Paris, None For Us on Why Do-It-Yourself Photo Printing Doesn't Add Up · · Score: 1

I have places around here that will do it quickly, but every single one screws up the colors no matter what I do. I used Winkflash, 8 cents for a 4x6, 99 cents for shipping as long as the order is all normal prints (something big like a card board poster I think is two bucks to ship) and the colors always come out perfect.

At work, I do have access to two different dye sub printers. We have a HiTouch (5x9s and 4x6s) and a Kodak (8.5x12) that both do a great job, but the cost per page is a lot higher than 8 cents. So if I'm printing a ton of personal stuff, I just send away. At least with either way (our printers or Winkflash) I know I'm getting what I want.

Btw, the HiTouch is actually better than the Kodak for one main reason, it doesn't collect a ton of dust inside if you don't use it for an hour. The Kodak will ruin prints if you don't blow it out every time you're going to use it.

Half the hinge was crushed, because stopping was much more important than having a working phone. Phone still works, I'll replace it once the hinge completely breaks (it's damn close now, though.) I haven't bought a major lab CD in years, and it's not because of anything to do with the RIAA. It's because of the crap that's released. I do the same thing, go to small shows, and buy the CD right off of the band. But then, I listen to mostly hardcore, Oi, and punk. Not stuff you're likely to hear on the radio.

It had a dent in the back, so I would probably have been SOL otherwise. And the dent happened about 2 days after I bought it, and it lasted around a year after that. It still sorta worked, only played like half my songs, and crashed my machine anytime I plugged it in and iTunes loaded. My notebook without iTunes installed could see it, but the drive came up as unstable.

A bit over ten years ago when I was in high school yet, I was kicked out for a short time (it was later reversed because of how stupid it was) because I brought in a pair of heavy scissors and had them in my bag. OH, these scissors were required for a class I was taking, and we weren't allowed to leave them in the class. But I was charged with bringing a dangerous weapon into the school. It all happened because an x-gf was mad at me and told someone in the administration I had a weapon, when in reality all I had was the scissors, books, and some pens/pencils and paper. (I don't believe she knew I even had the scissors, she just thought me getting hassled by the school cop would be funny. I hadn't talked to her in months at this point, I have no idea why she decided to do this out of no where, besides the fact we were stupid high schoolers.) Talk about sane policies, though. Can't let kids have the proper supplies for class! I'm surprised I didn't get 5-10 for every pen or pencil, I mean, I could stab someone with them, right?

I remember sitting in the car for less than 5 seconds before asking my passenger if he was okay, him asking the same of me, and us both getting out of the car (which actually required me kicking the door open.) According to the witnesses, we sat there for at least 3 minutes.

I do remember waiting for the impact, though, almost like it was slow motion. I was driving into an intersection, had the green light, and this guy ran the red light right into my driver side door going around 70-80 mph. This is in a 30 mph zone. After the impact with me, he went through a fence, over a lawn and up a hill, caught a bit of air and landed on the edge of their garage roof, then fell down on top of a car parked in their driveway (the driveway is cut into the hill.) He managed to wreck 3 vehicles, my car which was only 3 months old, his own, and the car he landed on. He was seriously injured, but did recover.

I agree completely with this. I worked at a video game retailer for some time while I decided what I wanted out of life after school, and actually had parents basically say "Oh, but Johnny is mature!" when he's really a 12 year old.

Hopefully enough adults in the under 30 catagory don't fall into the believe that video games are just for children. I'm sure I'll still be gaming when I have children, and I'll sure as hell know what games contain that I purchase for them and for myself.
