Look at the quality of the launch titles compared to the titles now for the PS2. The PS2 is harder to program for because of its silly vectorization, and some other things. Just go to any homebrew'ing tutorial, it'll explain it nice and slowly so you can understand.

Managing a community is not BZFlag's problem. BZFlag can't issue a patch that bans people who use modified content, because the program is open source and over the internet. If for example, md5sum checks of files is done and then sent to the server, someone could just modify the source to pretend it got the right sums. Trivial. On the internet, there is no central server that you can ban people from. Sure, you can use your approach, but thats a different subject, and almost completly irrelevant to the BZFlag code.

Cut the crap, kids don't get influenced by GTA, just because you can pick up hookers and shoot them, doesn't make it right in any kids mind. When people grow up I think they forget what it's like to be a kid, and just pretend that kids are alot dumber than they really are (maybe to combat the fact that alot of kids end up smarter than their parents, and their parents get diseases like alzheimers. "He may think he's smarter than us, but he doesn't have enough experience to know he isn't" or some crap)

If someone can honestly sit down, play GTA, and say "hey, i just killed a hooker. I think I'll go do that sans ps2 controller, outside, because I know that video games are just as real as outside, weeeeeeeee", then that person is a ticking timebomb anyway, and if it wasn't video games, it would be tv, or movies, or books, some other form of media, or, all else failing, they would hallucinate their own diversions.

OSX on ARM? Funny. You really don't know what your talking about do you? ARM is nice for their ipods, but not their powermacs (I just assume the ipod uses arm) Unless you spend all your time coding in asm (and I hope you wouldn't, modern c/c++ compilers can do better asm then humans anyway) then you shouldn't care about which architecture your using. PPC may sound better in docs, and may be a cleaner arch compared to old x86, but I'm sorry, compare the G5 to your amd64 (yes I know theyre not using amd, but intel's been slack with their 64bit, and the amd chip is still an x86_64 chip so all is well) in terms of power consumption, heat and performance. Or the G4 vs Pentium M for the same reasons. Sure, PPC may be a cooler arch, but unless you plan on living in a dreamworld, x86 beats out ppc.

Sure you can run Linux or *bsd on your intel machine, but you can on a ppc machine too. That's not the point of having an apple computer. The x86 darwin port is not the same as the OSX x86 port.
