    Of course they do. This happens all the time, especially with TV sponsorship. Why would it not? What is intrinsically differnet between ordinary joes on ebay and multi-billion dollar companies, except that they pay-off for companies can be much bigger. Sure, you may not stop this purchase, but you may stop a couple down the line.

    Doubleclick doesn't have that much IP, and the stuff they do have has nothing to do with the people that work there, it is in patents. It doesn't do anything that complicated.

    The only reason Doubleclick is such a big target, is because it is used by a lot of people. It already has a huge market presence. This was the same with youtube. Most people don't seem to understand that that is the important aspect of these buys. Anybody can build another video site, or myspace, but why would people move to them when they already have the originals. That is why they cost so much. It isn't really that complicated to understand.

    I wouldn't go so far as to say that I hated it, but I thought it was one of the worst episodes I saw (out of some pretty good episodes).

    The problem was, that he had to please fans of the series, as well as newcomers, which is a tricky thing to do. But then again, he simply couldn't make a movie with totally different characters, as that is how he secured his funding.

    if they spend money working on a title for the ps3, you don't think that they have a vested interest in how many PS3 are sold? So, they don't care, as long as they haven't spent any significant resources in developing for the PS3 already. If they had, then they do really care how many PS3 are sold. This does affect their bottom line.

    Yes things progress, in most cases like this, for the better. You don't have to use all these new functions, they are hidden from you anyway. Ebay will still work, so sill fox news website, so don't worry.

    They are just like Microsoft....except for the better bit.

    The big thing that Intel do have going for them, is that they have been able to move to smallers processes for creating chips, which gives them a big advantage in speed and power usage.

    Do you live in a society, or on your own island somewhere. You already have limits on what you can buy, and I don't see that as a bad thing? Or should anybody who can afford one and wants one have their own nuclear bomb? Or tank? Or lump of plutonium?

    You are kidding right? By average user, you are talking about IT professional. And I know plenty of so-called IT professionals who would fall for this as well. How do you know that paypal hasn't created another site to handle security updates? Do you just plain know this stuff or not? Do you think we all have the inner working of Paypal worked out.

    The fact is, the only reason you or I would not click on the link is because we are cautious, and we know what to be cautious about. The average user can't be that cautious, or they wouldn't do anything. In this world were it is unsafe to click on an email attachment from a friend, or even read a webpage, how can the average person know what is safe or not?

    You clearly have no experience with real users.

    The fact he got linked to slashdot, means that more people know about his blog, and he gets a bigger audience, maybe enough to get someone at Nortel to take notice.

    A lot more people at Nortel will now know about him, and might be willing to help him out.

    I don't think that Nortel would have a cry baby clause.

    Your IT guys are a bunch of morons. There has been plenty of work done in this, just look up hfslip and reducing windows install size. The trick is to try to understand what each of those dlls do before you delete them, and remove them from the pre-install image. Then remove them from the install script, and they will never be installed.

    It is not really your work mates fault, it can be tricky trying to find out how much your devices will support (some only support 1gb, some 2gb, some 8 gb, some less) Even the product information page at Sandisk is incomplete.

    You don't have to, just carry a mirror with you everywhere you go, and strategically place it when you want to see the other side. See, samsung thought of everything.

    Samsung have been doing this for while with there phones, just realeasing a huge pile of phones, and hope that some of them stick. I see it as more as a prototype production house, than an actual sales giant. If anyone at Samsung gets a new idea (good or not), bam, a new phone. I think they are just trying to release as many products as possible, in the hope of getting 90% of the shelf space available.
