    you crash a car into a building, there is only one possible outcome right? - you plough through without taking damage.

    alternatively, mayby there are different cars, and different buildings.

    You can have multiple outcomes of such a large event, depending on different starting conditions (weight of car and building material for the above analogy)

    As we don't have a grand unified theory yet, we'll keep adjusting our disparate theories as we see new things.

    I love science me, except the bits that hurt...

    Try an inductive heater - its better than gas, I guarantee. I was very sceptical at first, then we tested some where I work - more control than gas!

    check those dates - asimov was writing about Univac and siblings in the fifties and sixties, whilst according to another poster, unisys formed in 85.

    My private theory for this is as follows:
    Original stills were set up in places it was difficult to get to - read that as places the revenue collectors couldn't get to. The original stills mostly being illegal and all.

    At this point in history, the only way to get from one island to another was by sail boat, and nasty waves make this less fun.

    Just my unresearched theory. I'm more of a bitter drinker myself.

    you might be thinking of red dwarf - the ship kryten was on when it crashed was one of hundreds sent to induce supernovae in a precise order and place so the message "coke gives life" could be seen from earth for a month.

    When you make a tool for a job, that tool/project/task needs to fit the order. When you start bolting on other crap, it becomes big, bloated, error prone, and typically comprimises the initial mission.

    try manky rain water. Also, our cats used to swat flies then leave them n the windowsill for me to feed to the trap. It lasted 3 years from a £1 plant. Im currently having luck with bamboo(who isn't?) and bonsai pine.
