How did you get your constant there? My calculations say: (10^9) / (2^30) = 0.931322575
Unless your formula magically takes into account common file system overhead too...
I beleive you are referring to EPIC http://www.robinsloan.com/epic/ the history of what happens from the perspective of 2014 as Google basically takes over the world, while in the process becomes Googlezon.
I worked at Intel as a "Green Badge" for 6 months. That was probably the best job I ever had. Treated equally, had access to anything I needed, was invited to parties, etc. Everyone was really nice, they even had a small going away party when I left. The culture must vary from campus to campus.
I doubt it will be even five years, Microsoft pushed this cycle of console games. Who says they aren't going to reduce the length even more to be the first one out the gate again?

Sim Lim Square is hardly geeky, when I lived in Singapore everyone I knew went there for pirated Software. I don't know if it's changed much since I left, but I remember every couple of months it would be raided, but the next day people would be buying pirated software there. Hell, I still have cases and cases of VCD's that I bought there for $5 Sing each. Ah, the good old days.
This is not setting a good precedent for future laws. The Government is keeping even the guythat broke this 'supposed' law and his lawyers outside of the courtroom. I hate to sound paranoid, but this could lead to some 'police state' kind of thought.
Until they actually know what the source of the signal is, and not just it might be 'an unknown celestial event'. I will hope against hope that someone out there is as interested to talk to us as we are to it.
I hate to do this, but I know someone who just released a beta version of his "Database Object Scanner". Takes a DB and reads all of the stuff in it, and compares that with your website to see how efficient your usage of the DB is. I guess this is similar to the Tableau thing, except free, not quite the same usage model though.
Sure, it's a good idea to be notified when the build is broken. But does it really require a lavalamp? I know we here at Slashdot love our little toys, but it seems like anyone who knows how to wire up an LED gets a news story.
I think that despite the fact that it didn't happen, doesn't mean it couldn't. We should still consider what kind of a problem these 'e-jihadists' pose. Next time, we may not be so lucky.
I wonder if they simply cannot make enough money selling to the disabled that the only viable market for such equipment is selling it to the gamers with disposable income?
Is it possible that trying to develop a backbone for wireless technology might be limiting future growth? The whole idea about wireless is that it's completely free of structure allowing for people to do what they want. What happens when wireless is no longer allowed except throught the 'authorized' wireless grid?
When I heard the thud I thought it was something very heavy that had fallen. After that I didn't know. I thought that maybe war had begun.
Somehow I feel that this is a very important statement. I guess it is trying to tell me the next time I hear a loud thud, that it might not be my grandmother breaking a hip, but the war beginning.
I suggest we make them calculus equations, then we can keep all the idiots off the internet. Sounds like a plan to me, although, some people might miss AOL.

Unix Program to play scrabble? That seems like overkill. Plus it would really make the game pointless for other players.

It's not a lie, if you beleive it.

I thought it was great too. So what did I do? Made my own. Not quite as impressive though. http://crzysdrs.net.

I had a virtual girlfriend once, unfortunately I deleted her and was convicted of virtual homicide.
I think this site pretty much says it all Developers Against Standards Deficient User Agents (DASDUA). Trying to get people to code for the good browsers (i.e. NOT IE)
Does IT really exist?
Whoops, author was "Michael Crichton". Sorry about that.
Here's hoping.
