  1. Yay! on KDE's future: Plasma & SimpleKDE · · Score: -1, Flamebait

    Something for everybody!

SimpleKDE for minimalists (ie people with shit machines)

    Plasma for everyone else!

Now we just need a similar one to gnome for power-users (because gnome typically looks shit).

    Desktop Unity here we come!

  2. Re:Unfair Competition? on BBC In Trouble Over Free Music · · Score: 3, Informative

That analogy isn't fair. The BBC isn't hurting inexperienced users/listeners through bad product, and the BBC isn't forcing you to listen to its version, but simply gives you the option of listening to its music for free.

This is just like Opera complaining that Mozilla is giving away Firefox for free.

Wow that was relevent. If you look at my userpage, you would see that this is one of the first times I have shat on Microsoft for doing anything, and thats because this time they have deserved it. I personally don't mind microsoft, only their business practises.

You on the other hand seem to be the typical anti-microsoft-zealot zealot. You instantly jumped at the opportunity to release your rage at me, because no-one else will listen to your whingeing. Now I admit that I havn't bothered to look at your profile, but I think that you have taken your zealot-ism a bit too far. If you want to defend Microsoft this isn't the place.

BTW, Freelancer (by Microsoft) was a kick-ass game, and a great implementation of space orientated gameplay.

(i have no experience in the matter) you should place all the un-changing files on a hard-drive which will then sit in a draw and is only plugged in when required. I have been lead to believe that this will reduce the likelyhood of harddrive failure to close to 0. Then you can setup a RAID type setup for you changing files.

  13. The MPAA and RIAA on PetaBox: Big Storage in Small Boxes · · Score: 3, Interesting

are going to make a killing of the IA when they have finished, it isn't like they haven't made enough money off others as it is, so they may let this one slide in the name of conserving data. On that note, is the IA downloading EVERYTHING or selectively downloading to prevent such issues as copyright infringment?
