nope because the second they find out you read slashdot, they will know you are a 42 year-old virgin living in your mom's basement and you'll be inundated with Star Trek and nachos ads.
80's rock? soo really, the record companies did you a favor. Now we don't have to listen to you cruisin down the street in your camaro blasting Great White while trying to score with high schoolers.
Er i take that back, the record companies did US a favor.:)
Quitting because you don't want to work with MSVS and C#? Is it that big of a deal? I have to tell you I would FIRE someone who made that big a deal about it.
You can't feed your kids with principle!
wtf "id Sotware's stance on OpenGL for gaming saved the day" for who? OpenGL did not NEED saving. There are plenty of OpenGL developers who used openGL. Graphics isn't all about gaming, son. Just about the entire scientific visualization community uses openGL.
I dont think you get it. This is supposed to be aligned via software making it about 126487612834687913x easier. I mean even 4 doesnt seem bad but what if you had 24?
The tile wall Jim worked on is bigger and has a higher resolution than this one. The big deal about this one is that it is "software" aligned, which isn't too terribly impressive.

nah that's not a new idea either, i've been pulling that joke on the boys in the lab since we got our new flea cameras.
Wow, know-it-all-ism AND a slashdot reader, I bet you're a hoot at parties.

agreed. using the GPU to process vectors is much better/faster.
For satellite imagery you can run into images that are 400-500 MB. Try using a desktop card for that!
great, I finally have someone to blame for "Dance" remixes.
listen to this man, for some reason i don't think he's joking.
nice maybe you Linux and OSX guys will battle to the death for that %1 of desktop marketshare and us Windows people will continue to ignore you :)
You poor soul, Never heard of SGI huh?

D3D is harder to use?
Did you miss school the day they taught OOP?
no you are right. We have a similar display at work:_ volumetric.php

Unfortunately, It looks extremely cheesy, and a big proelm with it is if it isn't aligned it look terrible.
I hope Solar3D's look a little better but the technology has been around for a while and is not very impressive
just playing a little devil's advocate here but I HATE parking tickets so is it ethical to NOT pay them?
It's not open-source but Torque is pretty well documented
Not if you are a graphics programmer. Linux = no direct3D support. :(
