Today nobody cares about unethical principes by ccTLD owners, take a look at Nunames that revokes good.nu domains just for fun and/or to resell them later at a higher price. ICANN and IANA couldn't care less. Such unethical behaviour can ruin the trust in the domain name system.

Almost all of the European consumer orgs are up to their arse in Microsoft software. Some of them even have their instructions in Windows Media, making them useless for everyone not using Windows.
The only reason for them to react is that they now for the first time have a file or two they can't use directly with their all-Microsoft system. Probably something they pirated from their kids.
PC owners would not buy OS X even if they could. The only people who would buy this (apart from us geeks) are current Mac owners which want to buy hardware from other manufacturers than Apple. And guess what, Apple makes more money if it sells these people hardware.

After 4 months the iPhone (pro) will be released at a slightly higher premium price (like $500 with no contract) and the mid version iPhone (nano/MacBook) will be reduced to $250 and "one more thing" the youth low end model iPhone (small and inexpensive) will be released like the Nokia 3-series for $149 with no contract.
...of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.
Incredble that everything about the iPod comes from that Steve Jobs, like me, buys TV and stereo from Bang and Olufsen. And has been marvelled by the excellent design of Bang and Olufsen in the late 80s - mid 90s. Like the scollwheel on their cordless phone 6000 system, for 10 years and still today unrivalled as the worlds best cordless phone system.
Also incredible that Bang and Olufsen had it but lost it. Much of their junk today is overpriced with worse specs than a Panaphonics, Magnetbox or Sorny. Their MP3-player sucks, their new tech is pwned by Microsoft and their cell phone is the worst piece of crap ever produced, overdesigned and useless. The only thing they lack is to smear their shit down with Swarowsky bling-bling. My guess is that Bang & Olufsen today is managed by clueless MBA n00bs that groks nothing.

It isn't just about playing music, which most cellphones can do today. It is about moving and updating music from your computer, a task where no one comes close to the excellent iTunes. And buying music. iTunes Store. Even a good company like SonyEricsson is a joke if you try to buy music from them. And actually use the music without too intrusive CRM limitations etc. If users cant move or update their music easily, they will stop listen to music and stop using that function on their mobile phone. This is what's happening in the civilized GSM/UMTS world. This will be changed when Apple releases their phone in Jan 07. But companies like S/\MSUNG, LG, Nokia, HTC etc are totally clueless about how to make a good and user friendly system. And so are the narrow minded operators, with the possible exception of T-Mobile.
There's also the small but very important fact that most users HATE to use two earpieces (L, R) when making a phone call. That small fact is why people will continue to buy, use and love their iPods.
I think Apple has a postscript® license. Apple used to own some 20% of Adobe and was one of their first investors. NeXT held (holds?) a licence for Display Postscript.
