    They should just make it illegal to sell computer games to anyone under the age of 18. That would stop a lot of messing around.

    TBH it would be better if they were pro-west then pro-American. The problem with them being Pro-American is that when the USA bombs the hell out of them in the next few months the hard-liners will get more people supporting them.

    That isn't entirely true. For example I have about 10 websites where I have adblock disabled on it. Why? Because the website owners aren't dicks about how they advertise and they make content worth reading.

    adblocking certain sites actually makes the content download faster. Which means I am paying for wasted bandwidth. Do you think the advertisers will pay for that?

    Everything you described there eclipse already has.

    I have to use NB and eclipse. Of the two NB sucks (this is the free one). There might some pay for version that is better but I found UI would misbehave, revert settings and no where near as polished as Eclipse was.

    I would be interested to know what NB has that eclipse hasn't.

    Yep and this is very old news. I recall when the thing originally came out I tried a few links and was looking at Japanese Streets, stores and vets offices. Not to mention someones living room. The best one was some old folks home where they had the camera set up that you could zoom into each room in the buildings across the street and actually read the papers people were reading.

    Less to do with hacking and more do with people using technology they have no idea how to set up to be private.

    Saving the sisters gives you more power ups then killing them. Just killing them gives you a boost on the short term. Also gives you a nice cut scene and the girls return to normal humans. watching the first little sister run screaming into a corner pleading with you not to kill her is a good test to see if you have empathy or not. :)

    The game itself is ok'ish. The story and effects are very good but you are for the most part just playing a story. For example you can't die in the game. Once you realise this I was harvesting big daddys and other stuff in the level with ease. I'm only 3 levels in and I've close to maxed out all my ammo/weapons.

    I am curious as to what it is you are downloading. I am on a 100GB cap for a month (they just throttle if I go over it). But the highest I have ever gotten was 80GB and I have 5 PCs, 1 Wii and 4 people using the internet.

    Even if I was to get close to 100GB I would just slow up till the next month.

    Big companies like Lenovo being bought out by China, or more recently the US government blocking China from buying Unocal (US blocking on average 10% of US companies being bought up by China).

    That is what you are doing now and why China and the Middle east pretty much own the USA. They only need to call in the debts and the US is screwed. Mind you the rest of the world and those countries would be screwed too.

    As it stands instead they are trading in the $ to buy companies and real estate.

    I found one and had a look. 1/3 of the screen is taken up over the playing video for about 10 seconds.

    Reminds me of the advertising that the US uses. To people who aren't used to it the advert is very annoying.

    Some of the Oz books were a bit ahead of their time.

    I recall reading one as a kid where this guy who supposed to save Oz turns out he is a transgender (or something like thtt). All I remember is my mother taking the book off me when I explained the story.

    What is even more interesting is that when you block adverts you can see the real page.

    For example Fox News website something like 2-3 paragraphs is the story and the rest of the page is basically adverts or links away.

    The funny thing is that I actually allow adverts through even though I have adblock. I have the following allowed.

    - Google text adverts. They aren't in my face, they don't distract.
    - Sites I visit a lot. As long as the adverts are not offensive/annoying.

    if your business model is based on advert revenue only then your in trouble. Wasn't that one of the reasons to the dot.com collapse? Too many companies with stupid ideas thinking ad revenue would pay for everything?

    Sure this is great for urban warfare but the other side will just take the fight elsewhere. How will your robot defend against someone blowing themselves in a crowded shopping centre? Or dropping rat poison into the enemies food.

    I am not sure why you got modded funny because this would be exactly what the US government would do. For example current patriot act allows you to tap a phone indefinitly if a suspect has used it even once.

    As for WOW/SL. I can't see how that would help at all. If anything they would get better training in Americas army.

    The only problem where this falls over is after hours.

    The way the SL system is set up is you pick ONE character who represents you. If you want a second avatar you have to pay for both.

    So your employee in work using a work account is logged in on a free SL account (does IBM even supply SL accounts?). They do their job and go home.

    At home they log in on their own machine using the same free account are they still expected to behave as if in work?

    I think IBM would have a case if they supplied their employees with their own SL account.

    Although SL is seriously buggy and crashes a lot I can't see how anyone would use it as a stable platform to conduct business (no w32 jokes please. :p ).

    From what I can see is the mobile phone companies basically have what amounts to a cartel.

    When I was in the US and tried to get a phone they wanted to lock me in to some contract where I would be paying silly amounts for the amount of use the phone would get.

    In Ireland you can get a reasonably good phone for 60 euros and that would come with 80 euros free call credit and pay as you go (no contract, you just preload it with money). That is so cheap that most kids have a phone as well.

    A friend of mine who went to the US wanted to get a "throw away phone" like above but couldn't. His in-laws visited Ireland he got them both a phone like above and was able to resell after the left.

    We even have Video conferencing on the phones here and streaming TV for some time. Next thing I'd like to see taking off is QRCodes.

    Seeing as half my feeds are internal work related and the fact I don't want someone profiling all feeds I am reading I won't be using the service.
