    Kids these days with their "in car entertainment" and their "iPods" and whatnot; when I was their age all we had to do in the back of the station wagon was fight with our brothers and sisters and make faces at the cars behind us! And we were damn glad to do it!

    Indeed. After I peed myself laughing at the "Blu-Ray beats HD" version, I went out and bought TWO copies of the movie, one for me, and one for my mother-in-law, who was in the Hitler Youth and worked as a German air traffic controller during the war. She swears it's the damnedest thing she's ever seen. The first time we watched it with her, we ended up listening to three hours of stories afterwords.

    Having been a teacher at the local community college, and having used that egregious POS, I have to agree completely. I'd think rather be homeless (or be sentenced for life to use Access) than have to deal with Blackboard again.

    Even more likely: Had security been adequate to keep out a determined nine-year-old, it also would have completely stymied the teachers and administrators.

    Even more likely than that: Some teacher who "knew a lot about computers" set up the system in his/her spare time.

    ALL the 3D graphics editor UIs I've seen suck - 3ds Max, Maya, Lightwave, etc., take your pick. 3D editing isn't something you dabble at. Either you take the time to learn the tool, or you don't get anything done. It's a shame, I know I'd like to dabble at it.

    First, they're just going to test it INSIDE. Actually, it's an interesting question how a free-floating (as opposed to anchored) bot would use its actuators. The astronauts themselves have to anchor themselves to do many tasks like turning bolts. (equal and opposite reactions, remember?)

    Second, in zero-G, there IS no up ;-)
