Most of the world can't parse that.
Which I guess proves his point.

  2. Re:What would really help ... on Musicians Demand the Internet Stay Neutral · · Score: 1

That's because bands make more money touring than they do from CD sales. They get the bulk of the concert ticket sale price, but just a small fraction of the CD price. So, if you really want to support a band, boycott the MAFIAA by not buying CDs, and go to a concert instead.

  3. Re:how about polarization on Smart Sunglasses · · Score: 1

Go to a camera store and ask to see a polarizing lens adapter. They're meant to screw on to the end of a 35mm camera lens. The filters themselves are in the 50-60mm diameter range. There's a fixed part, and a part that turns; the polarizing lens is attached to the part that turns. You're a geek, make some glasses with them, or glue them to some safety goggles.

Other than Microsoft being able to claim that Windows runs on 99.99% of the PCs sold, you're absolutely correct. We Linux guys are picky enough we know exactly which distro and what version of that distro, and which of all the available packages we want installed - and we'd probably rather do it ourselves, anyways. So yeah, there's little point in whining, except for that statistics thing.

Exactly. I think he deserves a little credit for turning over a new leaf. He's not the click-whore of old, and like him or not, he always did have a talent for finding stories that appealed to the /. crowd. I used to hate him, but these days, I have more tolerance for him than I do for Zonk.

Mercedes Benz had direct injection on their race cars like back in the mid 50s or so. The problem was you needed about 600 PSI (IIRC) to make it work. If they're increasing the compression ratio, then they're going to need even more.
