you can't use Ballmer and gentle in the same sentence. - Oops - guess I just did. In my opinion Ballmer is an idiot - he is jerk - and people just pay him so he shuts up - that is why their cash balance tripled. - also they charge 200 bucks for their piece of crap OS. Linux is still light years ahead of anything Ballmer comes up with. My company doesn't even allow windows on the extranet used as servers - that speaks volumes - windows is okay for gaming - but for mission critical apps it just doesn't cut it.

I barely have time for my personal life much less fricken gaming why the hell do I want to watch a station about pc gaming. g4 - please sell techtv and let it go back to what it was - a informative useful station. not the crap you are showing.

I still haven't bought a dvd recorder because of the standards that are basically a mess and waiting to see if it gets ironed out - but now it looks like it is going to get worse. I only want to put my home movies onto cd - I use the svcd standard - more cds but I don't care I just want the movies to last and be around for a while and share them with friends/family. I just hope the new players will still play this standard still- if not I will be very very pissed off. I don't record any movies or tv shows - heck I don't even watch tv except for sports (use to watch techtv - screensavers but now G4 has just destroyed that station and is nothing but crap now) - the movie/tv networks don't really put anything out these days that is worth pirating in my opinion. why don't they concentrate on that instead of being worried about stealing 24 hours of the day. Also is it me or to be an actor these days you just have to have a voice - nobody does acting anymore because they all make these computer animated movies.

Microsoft has SBC so locked down its like we almost are just a wing of microsoft and now with Lightspeed - IPTV - I would bet it will only work with Microsoft products - in fact I guarantee it. I even quit using their SBC-yahoo portal as my home page because it just doesn't work with firefox but works great with IE and of course called their tech support about it and they said they don't support firefox/linux.

It may just be me but I just don't get it. Maybe I'm simple minded and don't have a phd or anything - but I would never go through 14 interviews. I was interviewed 6 times for a job and taken an aptitude test and was offered the job but didn't take it because of the number of interviews. I don't want to work for an interview that is that insecure about hiring people that they have to go through this number of interviews. I don't need to work for google to realize I am a "superstar". I like google as a search engine and I am glad they use linux. When I interview people I can tend to get a feel for their knowledge and personality and know if they would be good fit. And if I can't choose between two people I call them back for a second interview to help me decide. My opinion is that this is just a way to weed the ones out that are intimidated and really don't want to do all the interviews. Also - I am not sold on these aptitude tests either - I have seen people who got almost perfect scores and were hired because of that but were impossible to work with because they were always right (I wasn't the one who hired them). so when I interview/hire people I usually go with my gut feeling and so far it hasn't backfired becasue I haven't had to fire anybody that I hired. by the way does anybody know when gmail is going to get out of beta?
