    Not so sure. From TFA:
    In 1987, the patent office announced it would draw the line at humans, but it offered no legal rationale or statutory backing.
    Perhaps the criteria for novelty and non-obviousness (which are honoured more in the breach anyway) have just been replaced with "isn't yucky and makes me feel wierd when I think about it" or, given the current political climate, "does not meddle in God's domian".

    To get back on the subject, the pictures aren't half as gay as I expected, but they do all tend to look like 1970s album covers.
