    They ARE dumb fucks. He's not an asshole. He's just doing exactly what he says he'll do: take everybody's information and sell them shit. The "users" are dumb fucks, who are actively giving away all of their information for just about no reason. It's a marketing platform that millions of people dump their personal data into. Them and Google. People who use Facebook and GMail and such are, indeed dumb fucks.

    Being overweight must, according to the known laws of physics, come from putting too many calories into your mouth hole. There's no way that people are getting and NOT eating too many calories.     It's a lot more than targeted ads. Companies know where you go (and when), they know who you talk to, what you talk to other people about, etc. Virtually all details of your private life are being cataloged and archived every day.

    It's hard to say this, but Microsoft actually appears to be one of the least evil big tech companies right now.

    It's been that way for a long time. Google, Apple, and Facebook all make money from selling your data to the highest bidder. Microsoft doesn't.

    Amazon. Apple. Google. Indifference doesn't cause people to deliberately take out their wallets, and give large amounts of money to people who are actively, obviously spying on them. I agree with the parent. Most people want to be spied on.

  23. Software development is a great place to be today: It pays well, jobs are plentiful, and anybody can learn to program, for free, in their spare time. I learned to program, and created my own applications on my own, in my free time, while I was gainfully employed doming something unrelated. It cost me $0. Why do people today need millions of dollars and thousands of hours of uninterrupted (otherwise unemployed) time to program?
