I remember receiving a course from our trainer, Jayesh Valambhia, at Apple Support. We all grew to be Appleworks gurus (of course we continued to say 'Claris', because of that support folder in the system folder, and we denied the claris-to-apple-works update). Cheers Claris, here's looking at you, kid. *pours wine*

Hence the complaint.

He'll will have to sell it to a pro-level crook who's able to generate a matching ID-card. And befóre the card is reported stolen. It's not fail-proof, but it buys time. If this is true then the American mobile telephony system is more fucked up then I previously imagined. One of the reasons (I'm told) they don't like to give out their mobile numbers. Unlike Europe, where everybody treats it as a regular number, just a bit more personal ('Everybody has my landline, but here's my mobile number'). Probably because mobile numbers are also fairly easy distinguished from landline numbers in Europe. So I'm told.

I'm not saying I think this game itself should be banned from the open market and country. THAT would be an issue of freedom of speech. But I understand that certain stores choose not to carry adult titles. That is their decision.

If Take-Two makes the smart choice, it will be to sell the game themselves. Otherwise their only option is to tone it down to meet the ratings standards for their larger distributors. Who knows how much change that will take the to 'artwork' of the game? Probably a significant amount. Very good indeed, let them distribute themselves. They take a bit more responsibility that way.
  16. Re:But how do you explain the M$ fanboys? on The Psychology of Fanboys · · Score: 1

In a psychological sense Fanboyism is a lot deeper than the article suggests, and it is a consequence of a culture as materialistic as Western culture tends to be.

I dunno, it seems so fashionable to blame materialism many things these days. But it pisses many religious people off to see physical objects like Bibles, Korans or crosses disrespected too, and that's been the case long before Western capatalism. I think it can probably just be slotted in under the more general fact that humans often associate their identities with various external things and objects, and thereby their feelings are tied to how these objects are treated. The word 'totem' comes to mind.

Customer abuse, so no warranty (she did not pay with credit card). Boy, did that machine smell... Worst thing for her was: she had to wait another 2 months for another one.

One thing that troubled me a bit: she didn't feel a bit sorry. She didn't care she just ruined an expensive machine. She spent money like it wasn't hers. She just billed the clients a bit more and paid less overtime to her personnel.
