    The truth is only the cheapest computers can be bought without an OS.

    Hmm... I just went onto Newegg.com and bought all the parts for a computer, the parts *I* wanted to be used, assembled them, and installed the OS of *my* choice.
    Wasn't difficult at all and didn't get stuck with cheap inferior merchandise.

    No, on House they would have totally misdiagnosed her medical condition, given her an ass transplant, and when that didn't help, checked her for prostate cancer, then Alzheimer's, then gave her some drug that almost kills her, then amputate both legs, then 5 minutes before the show is over, say "hey... maybe it's her liver!".
    Then all is well again and she goes home and doesn't even think to sue the incompetent morons for malpractice.

    The first Windows XP was something that was avoided by most for over a year. Win2k was stable, rock solid, why upgrade for the eye candy?
    And now everyone believes XP is the second coming or something. Just hurts your head sometimes...


    I'm still running Win2k! I refuse to deal with the disaster that is Vista and don't need the eye candy or activation headaches of XP.
    If and when 2k is no longer usefull, e.g. most new software won't run on it, then I suppose it will be time for Linux!

    Newegg, and sometimes Amazon, are the only places I buy any electronics anymore. Circuit City has hardly any selection, Best Buy and CompUSA are too expensive and Radio Shack is well, utter crap and too expensive. Newegg has never let me down!

    My vote goes for the C64 Last Ninja soundtrack. Absolutely awesome.

    I agree, I love it. I even ripped it from the game into an MP3 and put it on my g/f's ipod.

    Another great soundtrack is the theme from rogue camp in Diablo 2... got that on ipod too!

    How the hell is this moderated "troll"? Because you, the moderator, doesn't agree? I wasn't "trolling". I was stating the fact that what he said, however offtopic, was insightful. How can you disagree with the fact that providing computers instead of food, clean water, clothing, etc. to staving children is a good idea?

    These children are dying by the thousands...hell, millions and without proper food, water and healthcare aren't going to grow up to live the wonderful rich fullfilling life that these computers are promising them.

    I just hope these computers are made from organic materials so when the kids are starving they can eat the computers instead of all the worthless food that we didn't send them!

    Feel free to mod as your personal agenda permits.

    It pays to know what is not supported. I have a parallel port scanner. I knew I needed to run to Goodwill an pick up a USB scanner for $9.95. I plugged it in and it just works. I aloso had to be picky about which wireless card I used.

    I understand that, but I fail to see the logic it getting a free OS when I have to trash some of my hardware and buy new stuff just to have it work with Linux, when it already works with Windows. I have yet to hook anything up to my Windows machine that didn't work 100%. Can't say that, unfortunately, for Linux.
