Quite simply because being able to view portions of two pages simultaneously side by side is much more useful than viewing large portions of a single document.
a civil manner? What ever happened to two women hashing out their differences in a wrestling ring filled with pudding instead of in the courtroom. Kids these days....
I used to be an avid Warcraft II player both in single player and online, and I also dabbled in a little bit of Warcraft III, but ultimately quit both after encountering rampant and flagrant cheating online. The cheaters didn't even attempt to hide what they were doing, level 16 grunts in WC II and teammates telling me they had the map hack in WC III made it pretty obvious. (To that end, I turned against the teammate who told me he had map hacks and spent all my resources attacking his stuff and then got beat by the other team). While I get beat more often then not, playing against cheaters makes the game 0 fun, and it seemed that Blizzard was either unable or unwilling to do anything about it. What are the anti-cheating technologies that you are employing in Starcraft II and do you think they will make a difference?
after being endlessly frustrated with Apple's nonstop bug-parade, which OS is buggier, OS X or Windows? Up until Leopard I would have said Windows, but Apple is trying SOOO very hard to prove that they can be even buggier than Microsoft. My infinitely restarting login window says "mission accomplished" guys, good job Steve!
That and people who want to buy things as anonymously as possible, cash is still the only real anonymous payment method left.
As per cash only places, they may very well be cash only to avoid having to pay sales tax, which in certain places in the world(ie Europe), ends up being a lot of money.
That she expects to earn a large amount of money by being immediately put into a "management" position and paid vast sums of money solely due to the fact that she is such a wonderful person and "deserves" to be a manager with a large salary.
God, the sense of entitlement in the US is making me sick...
But malaria is(relatively speaking) slow to kill and in your example the disease still requires humans to stay alive with malaria to survive because although humans are not the vector they are still the resevoir(almost all strains of malaria only affect humans, not other animals)
Probably a better example would be lyme disease, the disease can affect deer and mice(and other mammals) and is carried by ticks. Even if the disease destroys humans quickly, the fact that deer and mice can continue to carry the disease makes it incredibly potent.
The most important thing is being able to remove the browser(and I mean really remove it) so it doesn't have it's hooks so deep in the OS that its impossible to get out. If they would just allow users to do that, then I think they should be able to ship whatever browser(s) they want with the system.
One that is has a price of $0 and one that costs $2.99(or whatever). If Apple gives you a problem saying the two versions are identical, provide an extra model or two(or whatever) to the paid version. That way, you give people the option:
They can throw a couple bucks your way(well 2 your way and one Apple's, a large part of that dollar winds up going to the cc company)
They can get the version for free.
You are ignoring the atrophy issue. I'm 28 and distinctly remember writing cursive in 3rd grade, but 3rd grade was 20 years ago. Afterwards I could write proficiently in cursive, and for the next couple of years they forced us to write at least some cursive, but after that everything that wasn't on computers we were allowed to hand in with print. The fact of the matter is that it's just easier to both read and write and print.
Hell, the pressures of high school are probably as much to blame as computers, we were expected to create complex, deep essays within 50 minutes. At that point, there simply isn't enough time to worry about your handwriting.
Not to mention this is another article in a long series of articles that essentially says "do your bosses job for less money than they will ever make or you will be fired!" type bullshit that managers just eat up(without even being remotely critical of the logic or conclusions). Essentially it allows managers to use fear to get their underlings to do even more work so the manager can spend more time golfing while getting a higher salary with the belief that only management is indispensable, but honestly I think its the opposite. If the peons really do the work of management in addition to their own they are eventually going to figure out how to start leaner companies without the need to feed a small number of incredibly useless, but well connected, people massive amounts of cash and management will be out of a job...
Well, at least my hypothesis is at least as plausible as the one presented in the article:P
A very similar chip is in the xbox 360, but like you said more people want to program for that machine but not the ps3. If the ps3 is hard to program a large part of the problem may very well be Sony's dev tools, not to mention simple economics. Most of the people that program games for consoles are doing it for an employer who wants to sell games and the 360 simply has a much larger install base than the ps3 does, and thus more people program for it....
Right, in all cases. Meaning measuring BMI isn't necessarily useful for an individual(esp. very short and very tall individuals), however for macro evaluations of a population's obesity rate BMI can be very useful, largely because its incredibly simple(and cheap) to measure.
I doubt they will make anything all that good. Part of the problem with the game/phone combination is that the input devices for one don't necessarily coorespond to the other. Apple solved this by getting rid of all "hard" buttons(save for one) and replacing it with a touch screen. This works for some games, but many of the games I play use a joystick and the "soft" joystick on the iPhone doesn't cut it. If my finger slips I lose a lot of reaction time trying to find the button again, so the all soft approach doesn't work either. However, if Sony would get back to the old days of innovating, it would be awesome if Sony could introduce some haptics to allow the touch screen to give physical feedback when playing a game.
The nature isn't just for walks in the parks, it can also be used for farmland(preferably with robot farmers), locally grown food and biodiesel can cut energy use significantly.
Esp. considering Ahmadinejad came out and said that his opponent's safety "cannot be guaranteed". When they threaten to kill any who oppose, how many options do you have?
All this does is bribe kids to cram as much information in as possible right before the exam, and I would be willing to bet most forget most of it in a week. It shows that kids have no passion for the material if the adults have to resort to bribes to get them to study. I've seen firsthand that people without passion for science/engineering, who only go into for the money or because their parents force them to, tend to make pretty shitty engineers and scientists...
And to celebrate, it issued the command:

Something about pancakes I hope, I wasn't really paying attention either...oh look Twinkie, MINE! MINE! MINE!

So you can pay a dog to do your homework?
such as what the dress code is, what the hours are etc. in the actual interview, save it for if/when the offer comes.

How many of us cannot say the same? Esp. after all-you-can-eat night down at the Burrito King.

Would help reduce several potentially embarrassing faux paus(es?), for instance, "Which hole should I put it in?"
were just really emo?
