It's funny that Americans, looked at globalisation as the key to their future success. I remember back in the early 90s they would pressurize the Europeans into it.
Look at them now. Sure they got cheap labor and upturned local markets everywhere, but globalisation is distributing the riches from the first world countries right down to the poorer nations. They never really figured that out quite rightly.
Yes, yes, the people in control are of course getting richer but the avg guy is actually earning less. Also this phenomenon is so apparent local America. It's pathetic how anywhere you go in the US you get the same Denny's, Mac, BK, TacoB, OG, etc... In most of the places, the local cuisines and restaurants are all dead. Most American downtowns are going that way too. A drive through them on the weekends portrays them as ghost towns literally.
My point? ThinkPads are definately going in the drain. 20 years ago most garments sold in the US were made here. Most stores guaranteed them. Today you see no-one guarantees anything because everyones is unsure of who's pulling what outta whose arse. That's what's gonna happen with Lenovo too.
Just a FYI Apple, no matter how cheap something is it is NEVER as cheap as free. Free will always win out.
Not quite right.
If "they" were selling ripped music in 192kbits, tagged, COMPLETELY with all the genres set straight and all the songs are crossreferenced between multiples artists, cover-versions, album art - information of the album art - the music video, tagged inforamation about that - release dates, director, etc...
I would pay the 50c for it. Just look at the garbage out there and you know what I mean. Sure I might not do that for *every* song I want. But for the ones I want to collect, yes. The *free* sh1t is not good enough. And I for one have neither the time nor the inclination to do it.
Ugh... yeah... I don't know about your third-party trusted key holders/distributors but I've got two words for you: WASTE http://waste.sourceforge.net/. The more you try to complicate things - lesser are the chances for critical mass. Look at Freenet. Beautiful concept - but that's about it.
There are huge WASTE networks out there and most people simple send each other keys over chat in clear txt or AIM secure. Now if you are telling me that the ISP is going to log EVERY chat session from their users scanning for 1056bit characters which are keys, then you're going a little crazy. Besides. You need the other WASTE guys to add your keys too. So if your WASTE consortium is wise, even without any complicated third-party entities you can be very secure. There are of course some obvious loop holes in the implementation of the software - but none that can't be registered as trivial. This first version of the software was more of a proof of concept and to win the private P2P race.
It's funny how kids on campuses have 2-300 users running WASTE on the LAN on Apple iTunes port to "hide" the traffic and then hooking each other between campuses.
Quite right. Since the inception of Windows and Office - everything that MS had put their hands into has failed miserably. A lot of it was even predicted to fail before it hit the markets:
ISP
WinCE (Only American's use them - elsewhere the Symbian/PalmOS are the winners)
Console games (Save Halo and because they bought-out Bungie could they delay the games for the PC)
Music, WMA
Video codec - though the wmv is becoming increasingly popular due to ease of encoding but Quicktime is still the indisputed champ in all other respects

You name it and they've failed at it! There isn't any hole out there that they haven't put their fingers into and not turned up with the sh!ts!
You are not alone, try the fruits/veggies in the US - all that GM modied sh!t tastes like garbage. Everything is nice and big and colorful in otherwords pictures perfect - till you sink your teeth into one. There is no taste in most things. The intentions with the whole GM was excellent but somewhere along the line they didn't realize that while the physical aspects improve, the amount of flavor in the fruits remained the same irrespective of what size the fruit is.
Try to make a banana milkshake in Europe/Brazil and you need twice the amount of banana's in the US for the same level of taste. It never used to be like this 15 years ago in the US.
And what's with all the veggies tasting so *sweet* and all!?? Try the tomatoes in EU/Asia/South America and you'll know what I mean.
Actually, I'd like to think of him as a bit of a Robin Hood, he might swindle companies into expensive contracts, etc... but that's okay - because that is the only way you can make corporates cough up any real dough - just give them no other (practical) choice.
Like you said... "the ends justify the means" in this case.
In fact, Bill says that all his money, in the end, will go to charity leaving 'only' a million dollars each for his kids.
On a sidestep... the number one song in Germany right now: "Somebody please transalte this is from Google this kid is too cute and I must have the exact translation!!!"
I am Schnappi the small crocodile
come from Egypt, is located directly at the Nile
first I lay in an egg
then schni schna I snatched (snapped?) myself freely
Ref:
schni schna schnappi schnappi schnappi schnapp
schni schna schnappi schnappi schnappi schnapp

So which choice did your boss make? Dick or nice?
Aaahh...null...ed... Hahaha your 'Monet' is mine!
With MS security, that much time is saved till a crack turns up :->

You get up early in the morning... and then have "Denny's" for breakfast!?
MOFO what did I tell you about going to Jacksons house and playing with his gloves! Diamonds are not black and squishy, Jesus!

The logic used behind coding windows... sure explains a lot!

With that much luck you could have at least gambled!!!

Heh..heh.. it's slow because you have Norton AV alone... won't even go on to a poorly configured ZoneAlarm...
What's that? I just bought the "iButton" for $299!
The card will work just fine in your existing SD/MMC reader.
The only company everyone needs to bitch at is Sony (for a never-ending string of abuses, one of which it recently apologised for) and FujiFilm (XD).
Pirating and selling MS products just got that much more easy and professional! :-)
Just FYI, SATHI in hindi means companion in english.
Thanks for the do not call number! (ur sig) But I thought that entering your number in the do-not-call website was enough to avoid them?

Thanks!
