If you were in college when the dot com era happened and graduated after the bust, you were in worse shape than people who went straight to work out of highschool. The reverse is true now. Since the job market is awful, it is good to be in school now.
(heresay following, I may be wrong) At one point Steve Jobs said it is cool for 3rd party developers to make applications. This flew in the face of other corporations at the time like ATARI and IBM who were trying to say,"Only the hardware manufacturer had the right to make applications" The world would be a much darker place if only hardware manufacturers could make applications for so many reasons I don't feel the need to list them here. In fact... some of the corporations are trying to backtrack on this today that,"Only some companies can make applications on their hardware."
I have a Flash video game, I wrote over the past year(about 800+ hours worth of work by me, maybe 4,000 man hours across the project). I think it just might run on Tablets easy. I'm going to drive to Best Buy and run a version of it on their store product because I don't actually own a tablet myself. So thank you Slashdot. I get to get out tomorrow.
Now here is a question, if you write a hit game on Android and sell it for $0.99 in their ap store, what would you make in profits?
Exactly. I wrote a book with an article with this in it. The book was approved by God. I prayed to God over the book just before it was published. I wanted to know if my theory was okay or if I was overstepping my bounds in it, so I silently prayed,"God I hope everything is cool." Instantly through IM, my coauthor IMs me,"Everything is cool." Because God approves my book and this article is in it, I know "The Long Day Theory" is how things happened. This theory is so obvious that I came up with it on my own not even knowing others already did too.
Christianity and Evolution are very compatible. Christians should not challenge evolution, they should challenge their own theology. Just as God spoke to me one time to let me know he is real, he also let me know my first book was approved by him. In the book I wrote about God, I have an article entitled,"The Long Day Theory", Read it here
It is hard for me to imagine Microsoft as a puppy. Microsoft has a long past of crushing any competition, so they're more like an aging dog that should have been put down for biting people. But if Microsoft had to be a puppy, I'd imagine they'd be Scrappy Doo. Who doesn't want to kick him?
After accomplishing some of my major goals in life, I always wanted to start a video game museum for kids. My history(video games) will be lost if not preserved. Also, it is good for local kids to have something to do besides stay at home alone. The way the USA works with liability, there is nothing fun anywhere outside of places where you spend money. This is because if the place doesn't make money, some jerk sues them and they go out of existence. USA: Bars, department stores, and the beach if you're lucky. And somehow it is still one of the best places to live.
Proverbs 13:23 GNT "Unused fields could yield plenty of food for the poor, but unjust people keep them from being farmed."
The Bible says there is enough food for all, but because of greed and bad distribution of resources, that is why people go hungry.
We should be looking at all answers for this. It is my own personal goal in life to make money so I can redistribute it to investing at farming in poor places. It is a net loss, but I see the plight of the people dying because of malnutrition. When I went to Carnegie Mellon, my goal was to learn how to cure diseases by helping write software, but I never got a chance to. So since I can't be helping cure diseases on my life, I see people who die to malnutrition as a group of people who can benefit right now without discovering a new cure. At the rawest form, you can buy someone food directly so they don't die to malnutrition, but not many of us are wealthy enough to help them all. There are more advanced solutions to helping them in the long term such as buying fruit trees for them, or micro loans to start a farm, etc, etc. It is complex, but it should be everyone's fight.
Same goes for marketers. No matter how awful your product is, they can find "some study, somewhere" that has something vaguely positive to say. For instance, I'm not sure if you caught it recently, but Lucky Charms was being touted as a health food.
Lobbyists have a motive,"To get people to do what they want", then they'll make up the words that sound as reasonably sounding to a regular Joe to make it sound like it is in his best interest. No matter how awful the thing someone wants to do, I'm sure they can always make a bullshit reason why it is in everyone's best interest. It doesn't matter they have a,"sound byte", they can do this stuff in their sleep.
I don't care that they're porn. I'm more interested in seeing that they're in demand. Instead of selling domains to the first person that comes along, will they do something like an auction on them?
Don't you have to have physical access to a router or something?
Also: Google said it was going to roll out 1 GB/S out in select locations. But I haven't heard anything further. I've chosen my place of residence based on high speed internet before, I might move again if I can get in to 1 GB/S Internet. That could be good for writing next generation video game P2P protocols. I have a theory on how to make 1 million players at the same time Fighter like Tekken with 1 GB/S Internet. I have the game and the protocol written right now, but I don't have all the moves for every fighter done, and I have no artists to do modeling. You can play 10 players at the same time, just one fighter, sorta boring, but if I had the tech to see it realized, I may put in the extra 3 months to finish it.
Remember Clasmates.com? Sounded like a great idea, but they charged money to use it. Facebook is free, and is for people who want to know their other real life friends/family. You just gotta treat Facebook with the tact of if you were running for public office... Because if you run for public office, they'll certainly look at what you said on Facebook. To me, it is a win because we won't have future politicians of America to have talked all sorts of drunken fratboy chat on Facebook in their younger years. Once this happens, people might go,"Oh, wow, I gotta monitor what comes out of my mouth instead of being a non-stop idiot"
Monty Python doesn't suck because "there isn't really any such thing as a ministry of funny walks!" Quite the contrary, this is the reason every government on the planet sucks. If I was ever elected to a position of power, the first thing I would do is to invest in the future of silly walks. Walking has been so terribly not silly these days. In fact if you're caught walking silly in some places, they'll tell you to strip naked, bend over and give you a reason to walk silly.
Do student loans really help people, or do they just inflate the cost of colleges across the board? I'm 34 and still in student loan debt, probably until I'm 40+
I'd design it so it had just enough thrust to get back in Mars Orbit. Then I'd send a 2nd craft from Earth to ferry it back. I figure there is a lot of problems that could be solved by reducing that added fuel weight from it.

You win the funniest comment of the month award.

Ash from Army of Darkness. The dude invents a working artificial hand in just a few days, using midevil engineering supplies.
Who looks at the high score page with only one person and goes,"HA! He can't be that tough to beat."

It was bad enough we had EM scares from cell phones, you want to hold radiation to your head now too?
He meant to say he had the skill of a 1000 hacks.

The guy who cheats less seems ethical? The only think stopping MS from dominating is the anti-trust lawsuits they lost in the last few years.
If Microsoft is ethical in comparison to other corporations, what does that say about other corporations?
She should have said,"Bring your own food, and bring me a present if you can afford it." 200,000 presents could be interesting.

Anyone remember Stunts? If you got the F1 racer going too fast and spin backwards, you'd fly up in the air :) Thats an oldie, 386 era...
generalizing religion is like generalizing politics, some are wrong, but that doesn't mean they're all wrong.
Also, aren't we glad it was the Russians who got nukes and not Japan? Remember Japan used the kamikaze from a corrupted look at samurai code.
