Well asides from WoW; I also play MapleStory. The latter tends to have a fair amount of hackers depending if someone releases an exploit into the wild. I've seen a few times where the hacking has gotten to the point where I've had to put a notice to my guild members because of it as well as take a break. This was all because Gameguard usually doesn't work too well for security; and Nexon usually tends to leap before they look. I would challenge one of the people from Nexon to post on slashdot under this very topic.

  22. Re:There's this thing... on Cleaning up Thunder Bluff · · Score: 1

I happen to play MapleStory which also has a nice little blacklist feature. Though it does have it's share of foul mouthed twits that are either hackers, crackers or immature little kids with a little too much access to their parents' credit/debit card. There it's either Super Megaphones which broadcast the message to the entire server, or they start spamming with whispers. Thankfully you can disable the whispers indefinatly; but it gets a little nasty when a hacker trys to kill you for being on his map. I've seen where someone had vacuum hacked a low level monster to try to kill me in a pathetic attempt. Thankfully that the Global MapleStory client does allow reports of hackers to be sent along with a chat log now. Meaning any disruptions could wind up getting a little ban hammer when they eventually find that it's from either hacking or someone being a little motormouth. And from a pair of MapleStory forums that I lurk around; it's usually a good thing when you see a GM decide to post a message in blue text about who got banned or if they happen to joking around.

I've held both the PSP and DS in my hands, and frankly the DS can take more abuse then the PSP. I can say that having a nice little two year old niece can be difficult with a handheld, and the DS can actually take the punishment quite well. Only bad thing that I've seen for the DS would be the stock stylus, which is a real pain to use. Aside from getting a proper stylus from a pda, it is actually one of the better platforms available.

Then again the last thing one needs is more backwards conservatives who have their peckers in the scripture. But they do make for both nice comedic and sniper targets, although they seem to be a dime a dozen. At times one wonders if neo-conservatives are just extreme fundamentalists at heart with a little too much cash to spare. Just look at how many organizations have a little too much power. It's a pity that we can't make reality of ShadowRun tangible, then see what happens when the tables are turned.
