    "Everybody knows that a BSOD is impossible under Windows XP" Apparently my version of XP Pro SP1 was not informed that it could not Blue Screen! It BSOD'd 7 (seven!) times in 2 hours when I was trying to download Mandrake 10, giving "Bad_Pool_Header" error message. Go back to uninformed fantasy land where you came from and leave the rest of us alone!

    As several others have also posted: Myth Busted! Too bad it wasn't true though, Darwin's List at work I say. For decades we all have known that electrical devices in operation have the habit of sparking on occasion. Using an electric device while pumping gas? WTF?!!? These morons should leave their cell phone in the car and just "flick their Bic(TM)" instead-much better chances of fireball!

    You are so right on with that. I recently took several classes to finish my post grad and felt like I needed to start shopping for a walker, and started packing Geritol! (BTW I'm *only* 46). Trying to explain the pre-internet world to some of them... well I might as well have been telling them about being abducted by space aliens by the looks on their faces! For the record, I was not abducted. (adjusts tinfoil hat)

    Ha! That must mean WXP is better because I get a pretty Blue Screen without having to remember ANY command line stuff! All joking aside, I run XP Pro some, and have had 7 BSOD's- all in the last month. What makes me get out my foil hat is that all 7 times, I was trying to download Mandrake 10 ISO's. Every time it would get ~45MB's, then Blue Screen w/ Bad_Pool_Header error message.(turned out the motherboard was flaking out- so I didn't mail the package bomb to Redmond I was starting to!)

    Well, I don't mind so much your disagreeing with me, and even calling me names, BUT BACK OFF THE US SOLDIERS. If your convictions are as strong as your post seems to suggest, be a man. You have my email address. Email me, we can arrange a face to face and I will personally show you what a soldier can do to the enemy. Not a threat, but fact! If you don't have the balls, go piss up a rope, you're not worth my time.

    Ah, so you are just bright enough to use overtly hostile language. congrat's! But, from your own post:"... for the purpose of achieving a political, religious or social goal." It was none of these. Next time use facts, not bad language to state your case, otherwise you describe youself with your own arguments, and are not convincing in the slightest. Good Day, I hope you actually voted for Kerry, 'cause your type is his type.

    Being an Oklahoman, I feel pity for those like you. You sheeple have your thoughts and feelings fed to you by the media instead of thinking it through for yourselves. That was not a terrorist attack, it was simply a criminal lashing out at law enforcement and government agents that had been after them. Period. Because something may terrorize, or terrify the sheeple doesn't automatically make it "terrorism". Or have we changed our defination of "terrorist" lately?

    If you're asking this, you might want to stick to SATA. Not trying to be mean here, but the tech issues with SCSI require somewhat of a learning curve. As far as raw performance goes, SCSI wins hands down, any way you want to compare. But, if you already have SCSI knowledge/experience then forget above- it depends on what you are after. SATA is a good performer for the money-way better than IDE drives. SCSI is ABOUT twice as fast AND twice/thrice the expense per MB. If you have the knowledge and the money, go SCSI, if not, go with two WD Raptor (10,000 rpm) drives on Raid 1 (striped) for a BIG kick in the pants performance increase over IDE.

    Already happening as we speak: Windows boxes running AOL "internet" for millions of clueless users. Just get some of them to submit their boxes for testing. I'd bet that with a random sampling of, oh, 100 boxes from that group you could find an example of every known piece of malware unleashed in the past 2 years. I say this with the confidence of someone who has helped a lot of people straighten out their machines.
