    Once you fit that picture inside a 4:3 aspect ratio screen, you end up with a 1280x1024 raster size running at 60 Hz.

    That's pretty amazing considering that 1280x1024 is a 5:4 ratio....

    Uh, palms broke the 33mhz barrier last year (Sony Clie's) I think the StrongArm's (ARM9) are ~100mHz.

    Hehehehe, exactly!!! Go google for "Firearms Registration Canada unregistered" to find out just how many people rushed out to register *there legal guns*. :)

    As it sits about 80 to 90% of all guns in the country are illeagal (i.e. non-registered). But on the flip side we spent a lot of money to make some house wife in southern ontario feel better... (Err, well, I'm sure *someone* must feel better... Other then the kickback accepting politico's that is...)

    Well... I feel so much better that crimes are now commited with unregistered guns... It's changed my whole outlook on life...</sarcasam>

    Obviously the dollar-sign is a parser character right? Watch this:

    echo \$TERM
    $TERM

    Right? Okay...

    echo -

    Hmmm, obviously the - is not a character that the shell thinks is special, it just passed it straight through to echo

    echo \-
    -

    Ah, there's your reason, putting a backslash in front of a character that isn't otherwise parsed by the shell, just passes that char on through to the program.

    If you pass a -- (two-dashes) to a GNU-ish (getopt and friends) program it'll stop parsing commandline options, and accept things like -p as an argument, and not a commandline option.

    Oh, one more thing -- the laser should be on for about a half-hour to allow it to stabilize. If it's not warmed up enough after that time and doesn't seem to be very bright at all, peek into where the light comes out while it's on to check for any dust specs that may be impacting the light's exit from the device.

    And with your remaining eye, check to see if you remembered to plug it in.....

    Actually.... Yes.

    Any thing marked educational requires student I.D. or a pay stub & I.D. from the school where you work... Otherwise the educational Only models would n't be worth it (errr it wouldn't be worth saying they are educational only :)

    Errr, the RS/6000 line, is still one of the "Big Three" commercial Unix's... Usually mentioned at the same time as Sun, sgi, HP (hp/ux), etc. For example the machine I want to play with is a p690. That'd be like saying Sun is still supporting the UltraSparcs long past its useful limit. :)

    Ah but you can still get it! The latest release EcomStation was release in 2001. It has been updated (nicer installers, updated drivers, etc).

    The diehard fans will buy the e-book version (and/or bootleg it of course!) and the techofools can get the paper version a month later?

    We had some nasty environmental and operating requirements, too... My favorite was the explosive atmosphere test!

    Excellent. It sounds like Lindows has taken Linux a giant leap towards the ease-of-use that modern desktop users demand. This might actually be competitive in the marketplace!

    Hehe assuming your not being sarcastic, here's some spare sarcasam that I have lying around.

    OH SURE, now it's just as easy to delete your OS as "the other guy". Now it's just as easy to be 0wn3d as "the other guy". :)
