I thought this extension allowed me to slashdot sites while I browse.:O)
Seriously though, I like this feature:
* You can choose to have all Slashdot pages styled like one of Slashdot's sections. For example, if you're a fan of the Games section's hideous purple and black color scheme, you can have every Slashdot page look just as horrifying!
90% of the time, when you call an init() function, you're going to call a free() function too. Let C++ do the grunt work for you. Use the RAII pattern.
Put your init() code in the constructor and your free() code in the destructor. That way you won't forget to call free().
Heck I don't even like C++ for fogging-over-functionality with inheritance, virtual functions and overloading.
You don't have to use those C++ features if you don't want to. You can program in C-style in C++ if you wish. virtual and inheritance are optional. These days templates do most of what inheritance and virtual functions can do. And I don't understand why you would dislike overloading. Aren't you tired of thinking up names for functions that do the same thing, but just take different number of arguments?
"The chart features in OpenOffice are like a mystery-lover's dream vacation: a huge, mysterious old house with lots of long halls, secret bookcases, dark closets and creaky doors that, when you peer behind them, reveal wonderful secrets."
I saw this movie. You're going to die horribly.
And since you're a/. user, you're going to die a virgin.
I thought the only thing a job at EA was good for was giving you a bleeding ulcer within 5 years...
Yet people still work there.
And btw, non sequiturs are not automatically funny.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The only computing books that I think are actually worth buying now ones that focus on algorithms, graphics, data structures and math. There's little point in purchasing a language programming book, since the author probably got his knowledge from the web too.
On the other hand, a book devoted to examples, like say a C# almanac where source code listings and examples are listed for separate APIs, I may consider.

But considering that lots of OSS projects like Firefox and KDE still use C++, not to mention commercial games like World of Warcraft, C++ probably does have some saving merits.

Are you related to my girlfriend? Because she asks smart questions like you. =)

Girls' pants are pretty fullproof to most people here.
...then I believe I speak for all of us when I say WTF!??!
I find your lack of faith disturbing.
Hrm, i'd like a Beowulf Cluster of these! What would you do with a Beowulf Cluster of old people?
It runs?
Does it work for pr0n sites?
Er, I'm just asking for a friend.

I just realised the author is a chick. If you're reading this Solveig Haugland, ignore my parent post and go out with me.

Seriously though, unless you're a newbie programmer, I just suggest reading the C# language specifications, and browsing the web for tutorials onAnd I thought my Meteor Strike didn't work. I just need to polish up my aiming.

Sounds like your girlfriend and your wife have a healthy relationship. Lesbians?
Now that's what I call a non sequitur.
