UT2k4 is a fractioned community... Too many game types... Even the 4 team TDM/CTF/ONS didn't win anyone back...
UT2k4 was killed off my the lack of support (Epic AND Atari), rife cheating (and no fixes after Wormbo threw in the towel), and constant in-fighting about brightskins and weapon nerfing and other petty stuff...
UT is *so* dead... Now MSU is finished, even the modders will be off...
What?!?!?!? My Mobile phone can display video... Orange SVP 500. Got a 512MB SD card in it... so I get over 4 hours of 15fps video and stereo sound...
Not bad, for a mobile phone...
is this $500 'thing' or Apple Inc. going to be a Microsoft Media Center competitor, and will it (for the UK) come with a freeview card to record 'digital' freeview TV?!?!?!?!
Sorry.. I did mean UT2k4 of course, not 2003, and the current gamespy stats show 2000 players TOTAL (All mods) which strangly didn't get posted in my previous post.
To give you some idea on popular games online: Halo 2 has about 10,000 players online, and Countner strike has about 45,000.
UT2k3 is fragmented by SO many mods (Good thinging Epic - launch a 'make something unreal contest' to get 1000 mods for UT!) it's rare you find anyone to play agaist other than the n00b friendly ONS (Onslaught (Vehicles)).
Unreal Tournament is already being dubbed as 'dying/dead' online... just look at gamespy's stats (Which include BOTS in game servers - Currently, there are only
Ad to this, the new games coming out or recently out (PainKiller2, Halo 2, Doom 3, Half Life 2, HL2 Source etc) I think this is a bit too late...
Comon, I've already GOT a PAL version of GT4 (Prologue?). They've already figured out whatever supposed PAL problems they claim to have unwhittingly stumbled on when thet released prologue.
What utter rubbish... What's the 'real' reason here?
Besides, my TV (Like a growing number of UK ones) can accept NTSC and PAL... So relase the damn game already!
I should boycott them...
USA Release Nov 9. $49 (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/halo2/)
UK Release Nov 11. £39 (http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/halo2/default.htm)
So not only do us brits have to wait AGAIN (UT2k4 was the same thing as was SO many other games), giving the yanks extra days to practice before we get on Live for a frag, we have to pay EXTRA for the pleasure!.
"They shit on our heads, and we're supposed to say 'thanks for the hat'!" - Sopranos Series 1.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Duh... Make an option in the game itself and let the user pick:
1. Full experience - FMV, Backlight, In game music etc etc.
2. Conserve my battery - Turn off streaming in-game music, skip FMV between levels, turn off back light.
I applaud Sony's initative! This way you get BOTH worlds (A kick ass system *AND* good power usage: You get to pick what option is important to YOU)
That 'price' was a hoax and *not* confirmed.... You DO realise that right?
[NB: It may turn out to be true eventually, but until then, lets not pretend it is a 'fact' OK?]
Can you PROVE this JPG that crashes my IE on my fully patched xp system crashes *because* of this vunerability though? I mean, it could crash it if it WAS fux0red right? This isn't exactly proof of an exploit is it?
It opens in my picture & Fax viewer if I save it to my desktop and double-click it there...
M$ Release Sp2 for XP.
People resist installing cause they hear it can screw things up etc so they delay installing.
M$ announce a new flaw with sample code in the wild, show how every O/S they have (practically) is suseptable EXCEPT XpSp2....? Funny order of events no?
If we did a straight exchange rate comparison it would mean the Nintendo Handheld would be somehting like:
150
£80
Sony will no doubt do the same. However Does anyone know if Nintendo and Sony will keep to this 'straight exchange rate' price or will they rip us Brits off... Like usual and make a $150 unit cost £150 in the UK????

Can they publish stats on MY gameplay without my permission? Isn't this against the Data Protection Act (UK)?
Which ever game you pick out of Half Life 2 and Doom 3, it could always be worse!!!
:)
Halo 2... the worst of the three single player games, this holiday season
When can we get it in the UK? FFS... Damn Jap and USA only releases stink!

Feb 9 2005 = Wednesday
Feb 9 2006 = Thursday
Feb 9 2007 = Friday
Most likely a Friday... Nothing gets released MIDWEEK!!!! LOL
Wow... Can't wait!!!! Roll on 2007!!!!

Hmm... Lets hope it doesn't need military Helicopters with long polls to catch it when it re-enters the atmosphere!

I know what that works out in £ (UK Sterling Ponds), but have they actually announced the price for England?
