    I have this "top secret" system I developed that is production ready and I'm willing to let it go for 10% cheaper. It will also boot from a cd and then run a file from usb (or wherever you want to run it from)and they can enter any crime terms they want to find "hidden" things in text files etc....Whats this awesome system you ask? It's a Linux Live CD and a copy of grep or egrep and ls...What a revelation. Why don't they just have an actual CS guy on the payroll that knows what he is doing. Might save millions.

    That interface is so close to google it's kinda eerie. Try the image search, down a layer etc... Well what part of this surprises me? None. I mean, c'mon, it's about time after all the Vista fiasco etc.. .that they (M$oft) got back to the business model that works for them. Find a good product, copy it, then offer it free to drive the other guy out of the market, then charge for "features and addons". M$oft FTW

    I am really surprised google doesn't push this for Linux, OSX, and then the obvious move to Android. I would think it is in their best interest to get a G1 version on the Android platform first. Maybe there is one in the Cupcake build. I'm rooted and happy at RC33 JF so have yet to try 1.5.

    "Questions have also been raised over the BSA's methodology," If I remember right the best "methodology" BSA had was to get disgruntled employees to turn the company in for the satisfaction of watching the boss squirm. Only problem was, once accused, you were guilty until proven innocent; I.E. the burden of proof rests on the defendant. Great business model. BSA asshats ftw

    Agreed. As in another post I made here, I have a G-1...rooted... and yes it's a TOS violation, but I tether wireless G with dhcp etc... through ad-hoc to my laptop. I simply turn on a script when needed and thankfully T-Mo is pretty good with the data plan. Unlimited still means unlimited in T-mobile speak. I have read they are thinking of going the data cap way in the future however. Fingers crossed.

    Doesn't anyone else find this insulting that Verizon has the nerve to charge their customers $15.00 a day? Thats typically what a hotel would charge a one time use guest. And lets look at that awesome data plan. 250 MEGABYTES for 40$ a month!! Jeeze, get a grip Verizon. You can only screw the general public so much(Of course there will probably be enough idiots opting into this service just for the cool factor to keep it alive as a business model). Theres always the $60.00 a month 5Gig plan-You gotta be kidding me, $60.00 a month for 5 GB! This whole thing must have been cooked up by the same bean counters that figured out the SMS rates.

    Being an electrical Engineer for a Power Utility that spans 100's K^2 miles territory, I have had to code PLC and RTU configurations in everything from Alpine winters with 6+ ft. of snow and blizzard like conditions to ,my all time fav., 112 degrees for a week IN THE SUN, with no shade in the desert at a series of pedestal, monolith cabinets with the closest water 35 miles away (if I ran out). I routinely travel to the worst places, why does it break? because the freakin 120 mph wind from that snowstorm blew the side off the substation. Your "Stint" of 107 degrees is a training exercise for my job bud. heh ---Trade it? Not in a million years, can honestly say I LOVE MY JOB! and the $$ aint to shabby either.

    well, to be sure at use 3 passes. dd if=/dev/zero of = /x // to zero it // tr '\0' '\377' /dev/zero |dd of=/x // to write all one's// dd if=/dev/urandom of=/x // to write randoms to it// Of course this assumes your running *nix and older versions like sunos and pre 5.2 aix don't even have a /dev/urandom or /dev/random. I'd just find a drill press or a plasma cutter. Plasma Cutter seems best to me.
