How the hell are you supposed to see the ponies if you don't have a graphical browser? ASCII art? There aren't any ASCII ponies, and if I have my way there never will be.
What about if your comment implying that the faq comment that implied it will stay around is part of the joke? Hell maybe this comment implying your comment is part of the joke may itself be part of the joke.
A fellow could go mad thinking about this stuff. Who knows how far down the rabbit hole goes.
I think you'd appreciate Benny Hill and The Two Ronnies. Though some of the later contains political parodies that you might be confused or angered by.

True, you can always pony up the $200-$300 bucks up front and buy the laptop and sort out the data yourself.
I realise it's traditional not to RTFA here, but in the comment you replied to it said "It is not only the cosmic rays, but the plastic materials that the memory chip are encased in, these materials have small amounts of radioactive substances that will emit alpha particles occasionally".
I.e. the bit flipping alpha particles come from the packaging, not from the outside world.
Really, I find the whole "persecuted athiest" angle to be the most hilarious of all. Is one of you going to eventually become the apotheosis of rationality and die for the logic of all mankind?
"Praise Science!"
That would be Richard Dawkins.

The Muslims attacked a peaceful Jewish tribe. Muhammed tortured Safiya's husband until he found out where the tribe's treasure was and then killled him. Then he swapped Safiyya (who one of the other Muslims had enslaved) for some of his own slaves or cattle and then pronounced them 'married'.
Second, it is also funny how since the beginning of history, groups of people have been claiming that the world is just fine:
Don't worry, that horse is a sign of the gods! Break the wall to let it pass!
Barbarians? How could that be a problem for the largest empire of the world?
Nah, the Turks are only talking—we Armenians will just have to endure some insults, like all the other times, that's all.
They've been persecuting us for almost two millennia now, yet we're still here.
Ivan, run this test tomorrow night on reactor 4. Stop whining about safety, nothing bad ever happened before.
Levee maintenance? Oh please, every how many years do we get a Cat 5?
Predicting doom may or may not be right. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it does not. It is the merit of the question that has to be addressed, and if the consequences are claimed to be serious it should be a case for increased attention, not discredit.
This post has finally convinced me that global warming is a serious problem.
Smart Carrier -- Part of the explanation for why an ADM costs significantly more than a bare retail drive revolves around the ADM carrier itself. It's not just a physical sled, but also includes a controller board, temperature sensor, and a pair of LEDs that report on both drive activity and drive status. The ADM's temperature sensor integrates with the Xserve's cooling system to increase airflow to drives that are getting too hot.
Apple also told me that the rubber grommets that hold the drive to the ADM carrier are chosen specifically to match each drive's vibrational characteristics. Different drives use different types of rubber in an attempt to reduce vibration as much as possible. I gather this is a bit more important with the 15,000 RPM SAS drives, given their very high rotational speed.
And if you believe that, I've got a $200 cable to sell you.
Boiling humans is ok. Here on planet Sirius 3 we boil abducted ones all the time. Best way to cook 'em. Sure they thrash around, but that's just reflexes. They're much too primitive to feel pain.
As someone on imdb put it, it would be funny if they'd showed the nudity in the Vietnam sequences where all the Vietcong were running in terror from Doctor M.
Actually it would be funny to reboot the franchise again back into the Adam West era - all ZAP and POW popups during fights. Except that is that the actual fights are R rated ultraviolence with limbs getting lopped off people getting raped etc.
In fact you'd film it as gorily as possible and put in the popups to get from NC17 to R. The special edition unrated DVD would just move the popups a bit.
It used to be called xserialkiller
Linux needs critics, dude. Try to post something like
"I tried it a couple of times. Didn't much care for it"
There's a good article here

It's actually an incredibly cool story.
April 1st last much longer than that in Redmond.
I like the way the at least three people have modded it Interesting or Informative.
Why not make a story about the churches of Scientology and Pastafarianism merging? That would be much more interesting.
They are merging. Haven't you heard?

Somewhere in the NSA a computer has just made a note that someone called Reality Master 201 knows the colour and texture of semtex.
The Economist is the only British news periodical that's any good.
And yeah, I'm middle class classical liberal scum.
Actually these days The Economist seems to have the whole print edition online, for free. Kind of cool, because it's hard to get in some places.
Putting the slash back in slashdot.

According to Apple the pixie dust is in all parts of the ADM, including the rubber grommets.

I pretty much only use Opera these days. Still there's a difference between being something I like and something which has a high market share.
If you really have a thing for ogling old people using FOSS
