I worked in retail for awhile, I learned a trick for myself. I write "ASK FOR ID" on the back of all my credit/debit cards.
RARELY do i have someone ask to see my identification, no matter where I go. it amazes me how easily it is to get away with small things like this.
But I do urge everyone to do that with their credit cards, it may not always be checked, but it is better than a scribble on the back. But while in london, I almost had a pub owner take my CC because my name was't "ASK FORD ID", arg.
I have never been able to get into using a cell phone like that, mine sits in the cradle except for when i use it to call someone. Yeah I do think having mapquest on my cell is cool for when i get lost, but there is an overload.
I hate speaker phones on cell phones, i want to choke nextel users whenever i see them rambling on their "touch to talk" phones. games on cell phones? never sitting still long enough to be using those. I would rather read a book then play a game on a damn phone. Amusing our selves to death.
Adwords has always seemed a bit rudimentary in the way it has worked in looked. The jscript page include to the way it is displayed. Even nicely layed out sites that rely on it, it has always felt out of place. Why not sooner?
There is a big differnece from flight simulators teaching a pilot how to fly an airplane compared to learning about world history. the former requires the interaction, the other, not so much.
No one can agree on anything in the science field when it comes to this planet. Earth is more complex than anyone can comprehend or understand, it will outlast humans by a long shot, nothing we will do will kill it.
By the time you are in your 70's so much stuff pisses you off that you can barely deal with it. Things change so much from what it was even when you were growning up.
What LLM are you going for? I am planning on patent law after i recieve my CS Masters then going to get my LLM in IP, but Constitutional law interests me, so we will see.
So you can combat this better. The next hundred years is going to be a fight for technology, a fight to keep it open, and a fight of companies against "evil commie programmers", since they can't adapt to the new technolgoy
Apparently no one in any sort of power position has the slightest idea what they are talking about. Do we blame gun makers for gun deaths? No, they are tools.
That is the worst argument ever. Even during the crash there was a 2-3% return on long term investments. If there was a crash, the current SS system would be hosed anyway, because a good bit of the work force would be out of work. How will you pay benifits if no one is there to take the money from?
I think the best solution would start requiring the federal government to start paying back the loans they have made against the SS Trust. If the politicans hadn't been using the SS Trust as a slush fund to pay for their pork projects, we would NEVER have had this problem. There are 26 TRILLION dollars in IOU's setting in the "Lock Box," all wasted money that we can't account for. Sad.
For one, there is no finanical education in school, so something you are responsible for your whole life (your finances) you are not taught at all and expected to know.
Add to the fact, most people would rather buy a new pair of "kicks" compared to saving that $100 while they are 25 for retirement. People don't realize that if you save when you are young, you will be far better off than when you are in your 30's and decide to start saving.
is a crock of shit. I am sorry, but as someone in their 20's, paying into this system, I expect something back. Saying there will be no crisis until 40 years down the road is just ignoring the pending doom. We must head off the problem before it starts.
the SS "Trust Fund" is going to start cashing in their US Gov't IOU's, the only solution is to raise taxes to payback the money the government has taken out of our system. It is the politicians fault, not ours.
If ppl (including states) are only going to do something when they are sure of an immediate profitable return, the world has become a sad place. (And we should leave it the sooner;-)
what do you think has driven all technology the past 100 years? the past few hundred years? People do things for money, plain and simple.
Or they can hire dozens of lawyers/lobbyists to have the government give them subsidies like every other large inefficient industry!
probably because college kids have parents with deeper pockets than crackheads selling pirated DVD's

MS has good ideas, pooly implemented.
Atleast you can turn that off, nothing is worse them MS Offices great "history clipboard" that you CANNOT turn off, even if you edit the registry

And then, he would kill you
so who is the moron there?

i was a bit over dramatic, but none the less, the electronic frontier has some major battles to be won

Just gas all of those communists, they hate the free market and capitalism, damn terrorists.

I am 22 and I will be opening one up next year, putting in as much as I can, at a minimum of my company matching, as everyone should.

what he would become. They all probably thought "yeah we can have a little startup software company"
is all i care about, until we see these i could care less about movable drives.
No, remember speaking bad of Bush gets you fired.
