    There have always been ways to get stupid ideas of things to do, always, books, radio, tv. People need to take responsibility for their own actions. Yes the game prob gave the kid the "great idea", but he was probably a bad egg and would have done somethign simular in the long run.

    Please, if I am looking at a company website and it looks like complete crap, it gives me a horrible impression. A well designed easy to navigate site catches people and makes them stay and spend money. Something that is boring will lose peoples interest as well as something that is difficult to navigate (2advanced site comes to mind).

    The web is one of your defacto ad tools. To ignore it with a $200 site is just stupid.

    I have been spyware free for the past 6 months since i switched to firefox, which will always be free.

    It may be a good product, but it is no longer necessary for me!

    What if you drive out of state? will the price you pay in taxes be deferred? how will different states handle this issue? What if you make a cross country trip, will CA charge you for the miles you drive from there to MA, even though you hardly used the CA roads? What if each state charges you for your milage you drive from leaving till when you fill up on the way back.

    No this is going to be used to fund other pet projects. Nothing more. This isn't for road maintnence, this is about generating more revenue. The point is, they are losing that revenue because of more efficent vehicles. You already pay taxes for those roads to be built and maintained, this is nothing more than grabbing more money out of the tax payers pocket.

    I am a java fanatic, but c# has really pulled me away. It is a breeze to build enterprise web applications in C# compared to the counterpart in java. Java missed the ball with J2EE IMO, they made it more difficult than it needed to be. MS got it right with ASP.NET...

    It all adds up to: If you are working somewhere, keep your comments to yourself publicly until you no longer are employed there. If you are a business owner, do you want someone mouthing off to how bad things are at your company? How does that help your company image. If things are 'so bad' then he can pack up and leave, then mouth off. If you want to keep your job then you have to please your bosses, that is the bottom line. If you think something is 'so wrong', don't bitch on your blog, do something meaningful about it.

    For alternative fuels this century. While the United States continues its 'fight' for fossil fuels in the middle east, they will be spending their budget to completely remove themselves from the shackles of fossil fuels.

    just IMAGINE where we would be if we spent that $280 BILLION on the Iraq war funding technology to develop alternative fuels? When will we realize that fossil fuels are such an impediment and where we could get if we got real about losing the middle east (oil)?

    The most god-awful thing about ebay is: there is no way to get in touch with a real person there. There is no way to find a 1-800 number to talk to flesh and blood to solve a problem. I have had issues come up a number of times that automated emails and "faq's" wouldn't solve.

    Well, look at it, you have a few cases:

    the person who gets it and never uses it
    the person who gets it and whores it to no end
    and prob others

    now the person who uses it to no end, well, amazon wants them, they are purchasing more, which is more profit. it is the old adage of "getting people in teh store" and selling

    Well, I doubt it is with all free intentions. Lawyers are required to do a certain amount of probono work a year, maybe this is their segment of it? Granted it is a great idea and will help many people, I doubt they have the resources to fight lengthly big battles for OSS.

    but a little legal help is better than none.

    No, the classes deamed important are basket making and fingerpainting, while children are not taught skills that will get them through their whole lives, such as government and finances. Yeah basketweaving is nice to know, but it is something you can do on your own time.

    School shouldn't be fun, it should be a place where you learn what you need to get you through your life. Litercy in the 1600-1700's was ~90-95%, higher than what it is now.

    Education is falling through the floor, everywhere. More proof the education system is broken and needs massive intervention. It isn't working, standardized tests do nothing but dumb down curriculum. The education system is more based on making kids feel good about what they are doing, when it needs to teach them what they need to get by in life and do well. I feel cheated out of what I could have learned in school, we need to fix our system before it is to late.

    My cousin works for MS in their consulting dept, apparently they have slashed benifits this past year like crazy. How can they be posting massive earnings and screwing over their workers?
