    I call it the Strangle-Hold Model. People who don't have power seek it, people who have power seek to keep it. Industries that thrive on personal ability will always suffer it. Its just a matter of scale.

    I'm seriously wondering this. Will people realize the things that Trusted Computing and DRM can do to them? I'm not talking about the slippery slope of "restricting" anti-government documents or mobsters using Trusted Computing to commit crimes. I'm talking about the loss of rights to use media and information THAT YOU BOUGHT, NOT rented, or licensed.

    We, as computer users see it coming, just like a satellite sees the storm. We just have to keep broadcasting.

    Reviews having actual dollar amounts I tend to trust more. Yes, IBM can be considered biased because, well, they use Linux, and also deal with Microsoft.

    What I really want to see, though, is an item-by-item document included for download which shows what they included in their TCO estimate. Statistics and numbers are fine, if you can read the whole dataset for yourself.

    Because people LOVE their software. Actually, some of them are afraid of using new software. I've seen people use DeadAIM instead of Gaim and other such modified programs instead of using the program its trying to mimic.


    Not that I need for firefox to "take over the browser market," but it'd be nice if people would just take a chance.

    The T637 made by Sony Ericcson, which is fairly recent, still provides IR. IRda, IMHO is more suited for contact exchange instead of sustained transfer rates.

    What you do, is note the numbers of maybe the highest 2, maybe 5 winners on that book. And during each shift watch for numbering on those tickets, when they get maybe 5-10 away, buy one beyond the winning ticket. If you miss one of the numbers in sequence, wait for the next one. No suspicion, lots of money. Not saying it's right, because its not. Just noting that I'd bet its happend before, only the dumb criminals get caught.

    ...managers would work their way up from the lowest possibile position to garner knowledge, wisdom, and understanding from other employees and return those favors. Unfortunately most companies hire managment from the outside. I had a manager from the same vague field as the one he was hired for in my company, and the man just tried to cookie-cutter his way though the position. In my mind, that fails quite often.

    Sadly the grin-and-bear-it approach is the most common and the best way to maintain your position.

    Having a 4GB iPod for $50 less thana full iPod seemed like a bad idea, but it worked. I'm wondering if using flash, which should increase price, will shorten the gap between the Mini and the low-end iPod. Then again, maybe apple wants people to notice the GB/price ratio and get the full-fledged iPod instead.
