What you call hacking, I call conning. A difference of opinion between us, which is fine. I could 'hack' a grandmother out of her credit card information, but I would rather find a flaw in a device that lets me do something unintended. The latter seems more true to what 'hacking' is about and will have my respect, while the former would be better suited for a used car salesman.
Sure, if your profession involves securing an environment where there is a human aspect. Then yeah, you'll have to protect against such attacks, since such people exist. But those who would attempt to break your security in such a fashion are good bullsh*tters, and nothing else. I don't respect that in the least or encourage it. I would never classify or group such people along with 'hackers'.
I know the term 'hacking' has been bastardized to encompass a broad range of activities, but there needs to be a line drawn somewhere.
For example, I was once 'hacked' by various brands of beer which made me believe a 200lb women was sexy enough to invite home. I've never respected beer since..Probably explains my bitterness with this topic....the beer had more skills than me.
its being a good con artist! So what, this guy was able to sound like paris hilton, and she picked a stupid 'password reminder' that he used to get the real info from a phone jockey at T-mobile. Calling this kid a hacker is JUST WRONG.
can print Tolstoy's "War and Peace" in less than a minute........Plus the 330 pages it can print in a single minute is probably triple the pages I printed so far in 2005.
Maybe im getting old, but nothing excites me anymore. Seems like every game coming out these days are rehashes of old gameplay with updated graphics. FPS/RPG/MMORPG/Racing/Sports/RTS and thats pretty much it. I don't know what I want either..Something dazzling, something different, something creative. I'm bored of games and I don't know what to do! HELP!
its great to read a story where the bad guy gets what he deserves. There was a little luck involved with this. If the thief would have used a wifi hotspot, or a proxy, or any other box other than his home, he could of hide his tracks when he unlocked the phone.
Some believe Phrack has been 'dead' long before this issue. When a security enthusiast finds a new exploit, will he want to wait 3 months for Phrack to publish it in their next issue? Maybe, but by then the information may already be outdated. Phrack was great, and it will be enjoyable to read future releases, but it's not what it was and can never achieve that status again.
Well, according to their claims, it would be 19,000,000 / 4 and some change. Which would be around 4,750,000 amps generated in the amount of time they generated thier power i guess.
isnt that what i said? the load/save function of certain games are exploited, its not a usb driver on the xbox, hence my use of 'kind of'. sorry i didnt make myself clear
Acutally, thats kind of what happened. Using a modded save file on a USB save device, the xbox was able to be hacked via a problem with certain games and thier load save function. This hack aloud you to flash the xbox bios with a modded bios.
Have to wear a Burqa?
