Why do HD receivers still cost more than the average ones? The cable plans with HD are more than the ones without..Getting the Screen cheaper is great, but there are still a lot of costs associated with HDTV which end up being more than Joe Sixpack can't afford.

PFFFT!!! GIVE ME A BREAK! You want the truth!?

    I predict the following Prophecy:

Years from now we will have enhanced ourselves to the point where our skulls grow large and our eyes turn black. We no longer need to speak with our tounges, rather our minds. We no longer use sex as a means to reproduce. We have geneticly engineered ourselves to do things even I, Prophetic Truth, can not invision. BUT THERE'S A FLAW! A horrible flaw which can not be fixed by our future selves. A flaw of such consiquence that it will wipe out our species.

    The solution?

Time travel, anal probes, and sperm collection.

The Prophecy has already been fulfilled

  20. Is this really 'hacking'? on UCSB Student Engineers Grade Hack · · Score: 4, Informative

I know the term has been bastardized and now encompasses a wide range of activities. However, this seems more like fraud than hacking to me. The term social engineering should be applied to obtaining information that deals with technology, not having someone change a grade. You could 'social engineer' clearing out your school by calling in a bomb threat, but that's hardly hacking...

  22. Re:Coolest stuff I've seen in a while on Using BroadVoice with Asterisk How-To · · Score: 0

AstWind using colinux under windows and AsteriskWin32 using cygwin under windows are two ways to get asterisk to run under windows. Basicly if you want to run asterisk under Windows it will involve using a linux emulator, with no hardware support, and lacking a lot of features (no conf!). I would suggest using a Asterisk bootable CD if you're curious about Asterisk.

  23. I know thats what major chip manufactors do now. on Faulty Chips Might Just be 'Good Enough' · · Score: 0

They create a batch of processors; from that batch they test a percentage for speed. Some batches perform better than others and get higher ratings. Sometimes your batches are all really good, but the market requires something cheaper, so you underclock some good processors and sell them for a lower price.
