Their arrogance (most likely) alienated quite a few developers that'd have produced exclusives. The overall impression I have taken in recently is that most developers are avoiding exculsive titles because of the increasingly high development costs of games. They need to make their titles available to as wide a market as possible to be able to recoup those costs.
From TFA:
There is no control panel for adjusting the way the touch pad works, and I found it so sensitive... He's whining about the touch pad, not the mouse.
You are not in the business of making or financing motion pictures or record albums, so you have no real stake in the argument. I disagree with this part of your post. As a consumer of Mr. Taylor's products, he does have a stake in the arguments surrounding DRM and the consumer's rights. As a tax paying (I assume anyway;) ) citizen of the US he also has a large stake in the argument of lobbying and essentially buying laws favorable to the MPAA. These are the actions he says disgust him.
If you look at the market distribution of microprocessor sales, the PC market share is very small. The biggest use of processors is in the embedded systems sort of market. As technology progresses, various products get more flashy, and 32 bit chips get cheaper to make, they will get used more in those sort of applications. So in short, probably not.
Aren't all currencies virtual anyway? Does it matter that one can be printed on paper and one can't? I know there is more to it than just that, but as long as people deem it as valuable does it matter?
Ok so i know this is off topic, but why are wild hypotheses like this taken so seriously when things like ESP/human mind altering random probability kind of things laughed at so widely when they actually have many different studies confirming it happens?
Well you are missing one major use of a mod chip, at least the sole reason I put one in my Xbox. Media center capabilities. This is a legitimate use of a mod chip that was well worth the $50 to me.
The fact that companies are wasting money on advertisements in this game makes me laugh. I also have been playing it a bunch and have yet to even notice an advert.
The principle of in-game advertising really angers me though, we are already paying out our a$$ for the stupid game. The same goes for commercials in movie theaters too, i refuse to pay to watch commercials and no longer go to theaters for a movie!!!
Comparing an author of a book to an author of a program isn't really a fair comparison. Don't get me wrong though, I agree with the article. It's just that you can't ever really predict what someone is going to do to break your design. Obviously most developers could do a better job of making their code secure, but by holding them accountable for the actions of someone with malicious intent would be more like holding Ford accountable for some kid going around and making people wreck by shooting their tires out or some sh!t like that.
I just graduated in Computer Engineering so I have a fairly fresh perspective on this still. I also had fairly exceptional high school credentials, as did a lot of people, but that isn't a very good indicator of how smart you are. I found the key to getting through my engineering classes to be the ability to sit down at a test and figure out how to solve problems you'd never seen before, which is a skill that can't really be taught. Hell, I even stopped studying for tests my last year or two as long as I had a list of equations to use. Graduating in engineering doesn't really require people to be a complete nerd either. I've been a slacker throughout all of my schooling and always went out partying instead of doing my homework (even did some of my work while drunk!), as did a very small number of my fellow engineering students. The only thing you really need to get a degree in engineering is the motivation to stick it out when it gets tough... and it gets pretty freakin tough.
They are two very different companies though. If a tech company like Intel only had a profit margin of 3.3%, what kind of R&D department do you think they'd have? We'd still all be using PII's at best. Walmart doesn't have to worry about having a large amount of money to improve products because it doesn't develope any (obviously).
I think iBrator would be a better name for it personally...
...stick a plasma grenade up your arse!

This will make my collection of MIDI music sound awesome!!!
I'll tell you what, clown p0rn has never been better than in 1080p. It was totally worth the upgrade...
I think you are a little off with that. It used to be true, but is no longer the case.

Where is Johnnie Rico when you need him?
I doubt it at $500 each. It will be a while before they come down in price far enough to replace mp3 players.
SHHHHH!!! Are you crazy? You are going to get us all sued for listening to you infringe on copyrights!!!

So umm, you got any job openings?
So who's going to coordinate the DoS attack on their band new website first? Beuller?... Beuller?...
Why is will the amount of traffic be any different? Doesn't everyone just surf the internets at work anyway?
Don't people ever ask you why you have rain gutters in your house?
I just have four words for these guys: Die in a fire.
I'd prefer not to have some snot-nosed crying kid taking away form my /. time... ;)
