I see this as a big milestone for humanity. I know this has been done in respect to the moon-landings. But, there are many obsticles in the way of a mars landing, which hunams will overcome.
I did enjoy this title, very much. I think it got overshadowed by the typical Christmas volley of releases. That, and you have to compete with the general ineptitude of the average gamer.
Sure, Gates has his foundation. I was talking from a software perspective. But, being South African, always reading about the G8 nations promising aid to Africa, and wondering what the hell happened to these funds. I dont see any improvement. Ten to one, some corrupt government official, is using it to aid his personal offshore accounts, or his platinum mine.
I wish there were more rich geeks like Shuttleworth out there.
His outset was purely to give back to the OS community.
I wonder of Gates knows what giving feels like.
I remember removing my first bluetooth virus awhile ago, and back then was thinking, pretty soon, well need to have Nortons running on our phones, which needs to be regularly updated.
Think I'll just stick to my 3210.
If only my phone could take a shower (Yes, aimed at you Zuma).
Power to the indies. I myself, have been hobby-coding games since I was in Primary school.
Power to these guys, who code games for the love of it, not the money.
Yes, yes it is.
On the other hand, think of all those long nights Shuttleworth spent
at www.thawte.com, until after a decade or something.
Shuttleworth can play Battle for Middle Earth 2 on an XT.
This is a dupe. I remember posting a similiar article about a year back, about
a scientist in South Africa that figured out how to extract Oxygen from the Silicon Dioxide.
With computer literacy being as low as it is in South Africa, I'm probably responsible for 80% of the countries reported piracy.
I buy alot of software, but if I had to buy all my software, I'd have to spend my entire salary on media.
The BSA in SA, is only concerned with companies, not individuals.
Apartheid has been over for more than 10 years already.
Well, Shuttleworth (South African started it). South Africa rocks! Word to all the Suthies out there.
Hehehehe. Immediately after I read the slashdot Fake News article, I read this article... Coincidence?
I'd rather live with a bunch of "niggers" than a bunch of stupid fucking americans.
Hey asshole... I'm from South Africa.
Reporter to director of NASA: "Do you think that the launch will proceed on schedule?" Director of NASA: "No. God no."

I wonder who would win, Chuck Norris, or JR...
Schweeet. I can now freeze myself, until Futurama comes out in 2008.
Hawking at my party... Man, I'm such a geek.
Wish I could throw a party, and Stephen Hawking rocks up. "Invitation, Hawkings will be there, and free beer"
Guess I can freeze myself till then.
From now on, I'm using world of warcraft to plan my activities.
