If only a few stupid sites use this, it won't be a big deal. There's always an alternative for content.
However, if it catches on, I'll keep two browsers open and when a stupid-ass commercial pops up, I'll alt-tab over to the other one and keep browsing until the commercial stops.
There a lot of other interesting facts that you could find if you ever care.
One of those interesting facts is that the attacks occured on September 11th. There were no known attacks by terrorists at a 7-11 I know of. Of course, there was the decimation of the Circle K...
Is it possible to be racist against your own race? Is it possible to discriminate against your own "people"? I don't really think so. Not with elections. I vote for minority candidates often because the balance of power is extremely biased toward white American males. And I am one!
I'd rather the producers of the show save their money for really neato special effects than make the robots look like puppies or kittens or people with stuff stuck on their foreheads.
Dell technicians can and will install Spybot or Adaware rather than going through a whole reinstall. Remember that there are multiple divisions of Dell Tech Support and that there are multiple sites where techs are located. Just because a "memo" (which is just a glorified email) is sent out doesn't mean it's officially the stance of Dell. Remember, these techs want off the phones as quickly as possible and installing Spybot is much faster than a reinstall. I happen to know "official" support policy and currently it doesn't say anything about any Spyware removal software, but Dell's official stance on reccomending third-party software is to say "This program and this program are both good for this kind of thing" rather than endorse just one.
I read the articles linked but they didn't give that side of the story. This could be very much looked at as a fork of the site with the company "running" it wanting to keep their name. The article colored it as you are but gave no supporting documentation. I wish there were other linked articles that gave a more balanced view of what's happening with the issue.
Apparently a group of volunteers has decided to fork the Linux Gazzette website and didn't bother to change the name of it. This doesn't sound like a big draconian company taking over a volunteer publication and beginning to sue everyone in site. It's more of a proper use of trademark law to me.
Laptop with a GPRS card. Or a Bluetooth GSM phone with a Bluetooth equipped PDA. I used the former as a solution when I went to NC and it was very helpful. Total access to whatever you want all the time.
I don't ever do this and I'm risking my karma, but it's for a good cause.

This is the worst Slashdot comment I've ever read and It's just indicative of the large number of people who have fallen so deeply in love with the iPod that they can't realize where it could use a tweak here and there. This kind of defensiveness is just sickening.
On its Web site, the firm said the software could beam 135,000 pop-up ads at consumers every hour, and claimed to have a database of over two billion Internet addresses
I have that exact same database! I'll sell anybody out there my list of IP Addresses for the low low price of $20. It lists each IP from 1.0.0.1 through 224.254.254.254!
If I were a big site I'd make sure most of my images met the ad criteria so they wouldn'i show. If a large number of sites did that, the amount of calls to Norton & OEMs would increase dramatically. Imagine if all the news sites and porn sites were to do that? Ad blocking would get disabled quick!
I wish people could be modded above +5. That is exactly what I took from it and it wasn't a negative thing. The people who don't want to be there get to go to the real world where things are really shitty. The people who don't notice or don't want to get to stay where it's nice and beautiful.
And the little Indian girl gets to make beautiful sunsets. So in the beginning of the series we only care about people and in the end we actually give a shit about the machines/programs. I liked it.
Ok, BWJones. Put the flaming torch down for just a second and listen:
The only competitor to Intuits Quickbooks (on Windows) is Microsoft Money. If you want to funnel more money into Microsoft's pockets, you'll attack Intuit. If you want to reward a company for learning its lesson, you'll support Intuit. I'm one of the people who will support Intuit if I need a personal finance software because Microsoft already requires activation for its software and they have not learned their lesson yet.
Maybe the "technician" set the password to "liberal" for the Democrats and "conservative" for the Republicans?

Sue Goodwill does anybody else find that a funny name given the circumstances?

He could just stay in Europe if he didn't already live in the US (which he does now).
Directly to the blank space on the awaiting hard drive. This happens at a layer below the file system.
I have no idea what the game was about but the story really got me. it was great!
Dell TrueMobile 2300. Much better than the 1184 and it supports 802.11g and WPA. Very compatible and stable.

Besides, nowadays where would we find that many virgins?
