Yea, Sony really killed "this promising format" called UMD. Think about how much better it would have been without those 6 million+ (and counting) players (PSPs) sold.
or how about
Yea, Sony really killed "this promising format" called Betamax. Think about how much better it would have been without those millions of players sold.
I hose my solar panels off once a month if we haven't had any rain, or if there was a recent Santa Ana wind event. Takes all of 10 minutes. I do notice a drop in production when they are really dirty.
Wow, I think you covered all the bases in that rant!
"reasons the schools are fighting the testing is because people like you woldn't get it anyways" = you are stupid, or alternately, No Child Left Behind is wonderful!
"and set them loose on little sally" = Think of the Children!
"your affraid of the police knowing what your doing" = If you don't have anything to hide, why should you care"
"At least i'm not on the side wanting to give the enemy all the aid and comfort." = If you are not with us, you are against us.
"when you can't leave you house for fear of being blown up" = Be afraid! Be afraid!
"usualy people like you flock to groups and make things up and secretly one person is the leader and has an alternative agenda" = The Vast Liberal Conspiracy!
"What does that make the people who are wanting the other side to win?" = If you are not with us, you want the terrorists to win.
"But i will tell you what, It isn't anything with a real conect to reality." = I am right, and you are delusional for not agreeing with me.
There are environmentally benign hydraulic fluids out there. In water wells, hydraulically controlled flow valves are used commonly, and they sometimes leak, leaking their hydraulic fluid into the fresh water well. They use food grade mineral oil, generally.
Well, for my house the north and south shots were taken about a year earlier than the east and west shots. I can tell from the solar panels on the roof, they are there for the e/w but not for the n/s.
Interesting that the information on # of bedrooms/baths is incorrect though.
I agree that RPN is the way to go, but they are getting harder to find. I purchased several 48's as backups for the inevitable future when RPN will disappear entirely. I did buy a 33s recently, which has an RPN option, but they moved the "enter" button next to the "." and I constantly hit the wrong key.
When I was in college in the late 80's (Civil Engineering), you were hard pressed to find an engineering student that wasn't using a HP with RPN. I used a 41c and later a 48g. Now, you can't find a single HP in an engineering classroom. Every engineer in my office under 35 couldn't use a RPN calculator to save their life.
You cannot justify the War in Iraq by simply saying that Saddam was a very bad man who killed his own people. We (the US) have ignored many very bad men who killed their own people. Why the sudden concern about Iraqis?
How about the Sudanese government, who at this moment is supporting and supplying a genocide that has resulted in the deaths of 400,000 people? Why haven't we invaded? Why didn't we invade Cambodia to stop Pol Pot? Why didn't we invade Uganda to stop Idi Amin.
Most electric companies now install unidirectional meters to prevent this. When I had my solar system installed, the electric company had to come out and replace my unidirectional meter with a bidirectional meter so it could spin backwards and credit me with the excess power I was feeding into the grid during the day.
I have a PV solar system on my house in California and use net metering. The Southern California Edison rebate paid for almost 50% of the cost of the system. According to my net metering agreement, they do not pay for net excess power I have generated at the end of the year. The trick is to size the system a little bit smaller than needed. My annual electrical bill is $40-$50.
If I did not take the Edison rebate for the system, then they would have to pay me retail rates on the excess generated.
"it costs more energy to build those panels than you'll get out of them"
That is completely untrue, and this lie is spouted everytime the topic of solar power is discussed. Current solar panels take 1-4 years to produce the amount of power used to create them.
Lucas wrote the "story" for the first three movies (IV-VI) but he did not write the screenplay for ESB and ROTJ. Nor did he direct ESB and ROTJ. A simple look at IMDB will show you.
ROTJ screenplay by Lawrence Kasden, directed by Richard Marquand
ESB screenplay by Leigh Brackett and Lawrence Kasden, directed by Irving Kershner.
I, II, and III were written and directed by Lucas.
IV (ANH) was a fluke, American Graffit was saved by very talented actors.
There is a problem with this. Many, many movies are editted to remove content in order to receive a certain rating. When was the last time you saw an "NC-17" rated movie? Not because no one made one, but because the studios would edit them to comply with a "R" rating.
We will see the same with games. How many "A" or "M" games will we see with these laws in place? My guess is few to none. They studios will simply force an edit of the content to get a "T" or lower rating.
"I've played MMORPG's since Ruins Of Kunark release (first expansion to Everquest 1)"
And this is supposed to impress us?
Try one of Verant's two day rollbacks in the early days of EQ (ie entire server rolled back two days, all loot, exp, etc, earned during those two days gone), and then come back and complain about about Blizzards poor ETAs.
A coworker of mine, in an attempt to get a Wii for his son for Christmas, stopped by the local Target every morning on his way to work to wait in line for a Wii. He said there was always at least 10 people in line every morning. He did this for 2 weeks, and during that time had the chance 4 times to buy a PS3, but not once a Wii. Not because they didn't get any Wiis, but rather that everyone in the line was there for a Wii.
I finally got him a Wii because I am good friends with the local Gamestop manager, who held 2 for me. This particular Gamestop was selling all their Wiis to their friends and loyal customers.
I agree. As an engineer, I get paid once for the work I put into the design. I don't get paid every time someone looks at the building, or walks inside. Why should the creative arts be any different?
My Australian relatives tell me that the term POME comes from the fact that when a Brit visits Australia, they get so sun burned that they look like a pomegranate.
"Why go to school when you can drive a corvette off minimum wage?"
Ok, a little math here. Minimum wage in California (higher than most states) is $6.75/hour.
40 hours a week = $270 4 weeks a month = $1,080 12 months a year = $12,960 not including taxes
Hmm, not alot of money to buy and drive that corvette. Perhaps it is a used one?
The price of a new Corvette is $43,690 min. With a five year loan at 0% interest (minimum wage earners have the best credit) the monthly payment is $728.
Leaves that minimum wage earning, Corvette driving person $352 a month to cover taxes, food, shelter, clothes, energy, as so forth. I guess you could drive a Corvette on minimum wage. My mistake.
Dammit, wasted all that time at school when I could be driving a Corvette on minimum wage. What a fool I was!
Blu-Ray Blu-Ray Blu-Ray
NOT Blue Ray
For such a fanboi, I would think you could at least spell it right.

There, fixed it for you.

Last time I was at CC, I was curious about these "expensive cables" I always hear about.
So I checked it out. The CHEAPEST HDMI cable they had in the store was $85. I couldn't fraking believe it.

But that means I actually have to go to an Ikea.
The only place with a higher number of completely unsupervised and out of control children is the toy section at Walmart.
Cash is much quicker than debit cards. Unless the person is paying in pennies or nickels.
And some of us don't want every one of our transactions tracked and stored in some massive database to be used against us at some time in the future.

Doesn't this apply to Battlefield 2 with the ranks and all?

Spend some time on the campus of a Junior High School, and hang with some 7th graders. Then you will understand.
